"Selected cases" is too long
[edit]I've marked the "Selected cases" section with {{example farm}}, as rather than being a few cogent examples of trends, it's more a "this happened, then this happened, then this happened." No denying, they are interesting stories, but links to article about them could be added to "Further reading" to cover that. The section would be smoother with a few key examples illustrating the problem. I submit that the examples involving the law being used as a weapon in personal grudges would be particularly interesting. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:55, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe they could be separated into subheadings to make it more clear and remove the less notable ones?Peaceworld111 (talk) 22:01, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]Much content of Blasphemy_law#Pakistan section is not in this article. It must be merged here, since it is "main" for that section. Staszek Lem (talk) 00:45, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Comment That is not a "merge" you're proposing in technical sense. You may freely copy paste within wikipedia as long as it is not a violation of other policies. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 07:53, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
- There is no need to merge, as this a well developed article on an important topic. The general article can be developed further, but no need to merge. --Natkeeran (talk) 21:39, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. Agree with Natkeeran. this a well developed article on an important topic. Over 1000 accused. Dozens of people murdered. Two officials assassinated. --BoogaLouie (talk) 20:04, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. The law is itself notable enough in Pakistan to have a separate article of its own. A long list and history of murders. Faizan (talk) 23:30, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. subject is very notable and if we merge with the other article then we might not be able to accommodate very important details.Nicky mathew (talk) 05:12, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

New separate article for selected cases?
[edit]The cases are all clearly relevant and well-sourced, but there might be too many (per MOS:LONGSEQ). Is it time to move them to their own article ("List of blasphemy cases in Pakistan") and only feature the most significant (for some definition of significant) cases here? GlaedrH (talk) 02:12, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Support - that section looks too long. I don't know enough about the significance of each case to comment on individual inclusions, but the list is definitely getting too long for this article. Perhaps just include a couple of the most widely reported ones here, with a direction to the new list article. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 04:15, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Comment please note you don't have to create a draft for this, should it get approved. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 05:26, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Support - Articles need actual content instead of listing. In this case, the listing takes up much of the article, which isn't helpful. Splitting would be appreciated. 🌴Koridas🌴 (Negotiate) 18:43, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
