Use of characters and pinyin in the text
[edit]I don't know what the norm is, because there seem to be different 'systems' on different articles, but my suggestion would be to simply use pinyin, italicised, in parentheses. This is the standard in scholarship, and I think it would suit Wikipedia just fine.
I could explain further reasons for why I think it's better than any other way, but the fact that it's the standard for scholars I think is enough. Homunculus (duihua) 05:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
