Proposed Edit: Replace Court-Dismissed Allegations Section with Recent Updates
[edit]Dear Wikipedia editors,
I propose removing the "Sexual Misconduct Allegations" section in Biodun Fatoyinbo's biography for the following reasons:
- Lack of Convictions – No legal conviction resulted from these allegations. The most publicized case (Busola Dakolo’s) was dismissed by a Nigerian court, which ruled it as an abuse of judicial process and fined the accuser.
- Verifiability & Neutrality – Wikipedia requires neutral reporting. The current section focuses only on allegations, even though the court dismissed the most prominent case. This creates an unbalanced view of Fatoyinbo’s biography.
- Contradicted Claims – The 2022 allegation by Nnenna Kalu-Ude was publicly refuted by the victim’s husband, making its inclusion questionable.
- More Notable Updates Exist – Instead of keeping this section, the biography could be updated with more recent, well-documented events about Fatoyinbo, such as his health battle and relationship with Bishop Oyedepo (source) and his philantrophic gestures to the less-priviledged (source).
Based on Wikipedia’s Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policy, I suggest:
- Full removal of the section.
Would love to hear other editors’ thoughts before making changes.
