Proposed Edit: Replace Court-Dismissed Allegations Section with Recent Updates

[edit]

Dear Wikipedia editors,

I propose removing the "Sexual Misconduct Allegations" section in Biodun Fatoyinbo's biography for the following reasons:

  1. Lack of Convictions – No legal conviction resulted from these allegations. The most publicized case (Busola Dakolo’s) was dismissed by a Nigerian court, which ruled it as an abuse of judicial process and fined the accuser.
  2. Verifiability & Neutrality – Wikipedia requires neutral reporting. The current section focuses only on allegations, even though the court dismissed the most prominent case. This creates an unbalanced view of Fatoyinbo’s biography.
  3. Contradicted Claims – The 2022 allegation by Nnenna Kalu-Ude was publicly refuted by the victim’s husband, making its inclusion questionable.
  4. More Notable Updates Exist – Instead of keeping this section, the biography could be updated with more recent, well-documented events about Fatoyinbo, such as his health battle and relationship with Bishop Oyedepo (source) and his philantrophic gestures to the less-priviledged (source).

Based on Wikipedia’s Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policy, I suggest:

  • Full removal of the section.

Would love to hear other editors’ thoughts before making changes.
