Anti-recording Devices

[edit]

I made some corrections to "Political Career" based upon a video that I saw on the 10/28/2024 The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. The ultrasonic devices are not "installed." They are small and portable. They are used outdoors in the video. The Business Insider reference is behind a paywall, but I was able to read the text in the source code. I found nothing to support the claim that the videos of the device's use are from the same day as Moreno's invitation to record him in September, so I took that out.

This reference is not behind a paywall, but it seems to just be an excerpt from Business Insider.

In September 2024, Moreno said, "If you want to tape record, videotape anything I say, you're welcome to do that" but a campaign spokeswoman later admitted staff had used portable devices that emit ultrasonic frequencies to obscure audio recording to deter trackers.[1] It was later reported and confirmed that the devices also distorted recordings for voters.[2] 2600:8800:6105:2C00:652F:DFAD:B29D:7191 (talk) 10:07, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

MBA controversy

[edit]

I have no idea why the section below was removed, nor do I see why the page was locked. If you read the WKYC (NBC Affiliate) story, you will see this fake MBA fraud was perpetrated multiple times, including on a 2011 Infiniti dealer application. To be clear, I do not work for Sherrod Brown (his opponent), I don't even live in Ohio, I am simply trying to inform the public. Trust in everything has eroded in recent years, too many things are whitewashed and forgotten. I implore the Wikipedia editors to re-visit this controversy and others. Thank you for your time and consideration.

After it was publicized that his Cleveland Foundation boardmember bio falsely stated that he also had a Master of Business Administration degree, his Senate campaign blamed the error on “a staffer who made a mistake.”[3][4] 2600:8800:6105:2C00:9816:7E17:4287:AC99 (talk) 04:02, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for putting this back, Nomoskedasticity. When you have a moment, please take a look at the other stories I added that were removed. I made sure to properly source them all with multiple references. 2600:8800:6105:2C00:9816:7E17:4287:AC99 (talk) 07:53, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm much less inclined to put back other components -- especially the bit about the daughter's divorce. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 08:30, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your quick response. Understood. Less the divorce, I meant more about the other wage theft case involving the tampered documents as well as the anti-recording devices. 2600:8800:6105:2C00:692F:482A:267:438 (talk) 14:22, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Caught using employees to pose for testimonials

[edit]

Multiple testimonials featured prominently throughout Moreno’s websites are provided by current and former employees, as discovered in a review of Moreno’s businesses. These testimonials, both videos and written reviews that praise the customer service and convenience of Moreno's dealerships.

Tampered Documents In New Wage Theft Story

[edit]

In August 2024, it was revealed that Moreno was embroiled in another wage theft scandal, and this time the case involved tampered documents. Moreno had recruited a general manager from Virginia with decades of experience selling Porsche sports cars. A year and a half later, Moreno cut ties with the salesman, and pretty soon the salesman was in court claiming Moreno hadn’t delivered on the pay package of total variable gross profit that lured him to Ohio.[5] In the lawsuit, the salesman stated he was forced to sign a termination agreement under duress that later was improperly altered. The part indicating the salesman wad laid off was whited out and now inferred it was for performance reasons. In response to the lawsuit, Moreno's company said the person who handled the paperwork was new. Moreno settled the case out of court in March 2016.[6] 2600:8800:6105:2C00:652F:DFAD:B29D:7191 (talk) 10:02, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He has had many known political ads in the 2024 election that were attacking Sherrod Brown for "letting biological men to participate in women's sports."

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Shadow311 (talk) 21:24, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
