Place of birth
[edit]Benjamin Boyd was born 21st August 1801, (not 1803), in London, (perhaps in the parish of St Peter Le Poer), not at Merton Hall, parish of Penninghame, Wigtownshire. His parents appear to have taken up residence at Merton Hall some time between 1806 and 1808. The Church of Scotland baptism register records the dates and places for the marriage of Edward Boyd & Janet Yule and the birth of their eleven children. Further Revisions and Expansion
[edit]I have done a bit of research about Boyd and explored Boydtown and Twofold Bay, and found numerous references. I have expanded the entry and my proposed revisions are on my sandbox http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Drfederico/sandbox_benjamin-boyd It is hard to determine some facts and sources do conflict, but I feel it's better to get the story out of this famous Australian adventurer and entrepreneur. Any comments before I publish would be greatly appreciated. Drfederico (talk) 16:42, 26 March 2020 (UTC) Well, upon second thought, since no one else has edited the page since 2018, I'm just going to go ahead and publishing. If you don't mind, I'd like to reveal that I am part of the Wiki Education Scholars & Scientists Program to improve articles. Drfederico (talk) 19:55, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
