Economy - Major Companies - "20 Top Employers" - Sources to improve

[edit]

I attempted to repair a {dead link} by searching out an archive copy of "2014 Central Oregon Profile" and as of yet to find one. It was used to generate the "20 Top Employers" section of the article.

I did locate a 2013 copy that starts on page 30 of this slide presentation:

I found these additional reports published since:

I leave this here in hopes a future editor might construct an attractive table, or some other inventive and intuitive way to present the data that is not terribly difficult to update upon any subsequent publishing. This feature is currently beyond my simple set of editing skills.

[edit]

Hi. I made several edits to the Education section. The one about racism was removed. So was a sentence about inter-district transfers, which made it clear that the students of Bend are also able to study in other Central Oregon schools (and vice-versa). I am not pleased to find these deleted. This is the kind of information people need when looking for neutral information about a city's educational offerings.

These deletions and similar attitudes make this supposedly encyclopedic page sound like a tourist brochure for the City of Bend. What is the problem with briefly providing relevant information and citing local newspapers as legitimate sources?

WP:USCITIES says, "Provide information on notable public and private schools in the city, as well as any colleges and universities that might be present. You might also include some information on the school board, as well as how many students and teachers are in the system." Details of the school district events or issues may be more appropriate in the district article. Fettlemap (talk) 21:33, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
