[edit]As shown in the picture, Bebeto became a household name for his post-goal celebration in the 1994 World Cup, held in the USA.
His wife had delivered their third child just days before a quarterfinal match against Holland. After the striker pumped the go-ahead goal into the back of the net Bebeto ran to the sideline, brought his arms together and began rocking an imaginary baby. Teammates Romario and Mazinho quickly joined in to create one of the most lasting images in World Cup history.

- I have no idea when or why he begin to be called Bebeto, but I'm pretty certain he was called that long before that celebration (in fact the name Bebeto was on his shirt when that game started, and of course, all throughtout that World Cup and, at least, during 93/94 spanish championship with Deportivo La Coruña). --BlackBaron33 18:06, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
- what's a go-ahead goal? There's no such thing is there?
