Why "Russian held"

I think it's worong to say "Russian held port of Odessa". Odessa in 1914 was a city of the Russian Empire, i.e., part of "Russian" or rather "Imperial Russian", territory. Calling it a "Russian port" might not be quite right - many Ukrainians would object, despite the fact that it still is a mainly Russian city. Maelli (talk) 14:22, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
