Basil Fool for Christ is it really most common english usage? He was Blazhenny, not yurodivy. `'mikkanarxi 23:33, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure it is. This is how I've always heard his name, anyway. Also, if you go into an Orthodox shop in the U.S., usually they are selling his icons, etc. under that name. On a different note, I wonder how appropriate the link to Holy Basil is. The saint has little to do with the plant, I think. Ştefan 12:22, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

-- Does it really matter what you think? Christian should not trust ones own thoughts. At least Basil is a plant, and Basilika is temple and Saint Basil is temple of holy spirit. Maybe plants were really dear to Basil? And it is christian tradition to keep Basil in the temple and priests use Basil to sprinkle holy water? So how can you be sure that St. Basil has not sprinkled you Holy water with Holy Basil plant in some Basilika? :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.255.177.119 (talk) 10:40, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Basil the Blessed" is the conventional name if you refer Britannica ([1]). I think better to rename the article. --Mgar 14:29, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
