Cry of Balintawak?

[edit]

Balintawak is also referred to the "Cry of Balintawak" it is written in many history books in the Philippines Chamz369 (talk) 08:01, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such existing article; maybe the link could be allowed when such an article is created. Anyway, its properly called the "Cry of Pugadlawin" and not the "Cry of Balintawak", if I remember my Philippine history correctly. — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 08:25, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: <Evidently, I do not, as the subject is a matter of controversy as one author (Agoncillo) states it happened in Pugadlawin, while another (Borromeo-Beuhler) claims that Agoncillo erred and that Pugadlawin is an "invention".>KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 04:48, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That first link shows this book's title: "The cry of Balintawak : a contrived controversy". I think the title says it all. Cheers! — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 04:34, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
that is what the Book says only one book .. so you are saying that all filipinos should remove all monuments and a lifetime of history regarding the cry of Balintawak ... and that one book is the only one that will remove the Cry of Balintawak from Wiki .... among hundreds of links that points to Cry of Balintawak .. are you sure... Chamz369 (talk) 00:06, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think you are missing the point here, which is there is no need to include a line corresponding to the Cry of Balintawak in this disambiguation page since there is no such article in Wikipedia (for the moment; the link will redirect you to Philippine Revolution). This argument has something to do with Wikipedia procedures and not the validity of the Cry of Balintawak or Pugadlawin. Be patient, I am currently working on an article for the Cry of Balintawak in my sandbox. When it's done, I will include a link in this disambiguation page. I hope this clears things up. removed Balintwak town... because there are no "towns" in the Philippines Chamz369 (talk) 02:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That was a valid dab link, since Balintawak town no longer exists, but is now part of Quezon City. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia first before making these edits. Cheers! — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 03:00, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

a "Town" named Balintawak never existed.. there was never a "Town" or NO "longer a town Balintawak" .. the town balintawak never existed at all .... there are no towns in the Philippines at all ... Chamz369 (talk) 23:52, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited the pertinent line per MOS:DAB. Re your statement "there are no towns in the Philippines at all", please see this link. — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 03:42, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you are right .. looks like I have been way too westernized I forgot they have adopted towns already... I will yield ... but at least we got the Barangay Balintawak corrected.. Chamz369 (talk) 04:37, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally, based on a source you previously gave (http://www.worldcat.org/isbn/9715502784), the author (Borromeo-Beuhler) refers to Balintawak as a "town". See this link. Cheers!— KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 04:51, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

they refer balintawak as a town for easy foreigner understanding ... that is all

on PIA page also if you read carefully have you ever wondered they listed a city as "towns" ... [1] . [2]

and since the PIA used City as towns you might want to add "town" in the City disambiguation page [3]

here are the levels of local Governement of Philippines

http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Local_government_in_the_Philippines#Levels_of_local_government which will explain also if there are no "towns" in a particular place ...

Barangay is the lowest level and is governed by a Barangay captain .

there are a lot of info you can gather around the net and books ...but I am telling you the actual pilipino level regarding this matters

Chamz369 (talk) 05:12, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Its stated in the PIA page as "Towns and Cities", one being distinct from the other. I think the current version of the dab page is fine as it is. Also, if you click on my signature (the green •KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ•), you will see my user page. I am actually a Filipino, so I am thoroughly acquainted with the info you enumerated above. Cheers! — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 05:20, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

then you will need to add Philippines to this list of countries that use towns... in "towns" [4]

and since you are filipino... then you should know that in one story there are so many variances when you ask info from one filipino to another and usually interviews are done over a lot of liquor "tagay" or beer ..... this refers to the 'Balintawak Escrima"

also if truly you are pinoy... you know there are no towns at all there are barangays ... hahaaha.. kumusta ka,, taga saan ka sa atin ... Chamz369 (talk) 05:33, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you are right about listing "cities" ...I guess I need to read carefully...hahahah Chamz369 (talk) 05:37, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may be right regarding the use of "town" as most often we use the term "Municipalities" - see Philippine municipality; but even then, both cities and municipalities are made up of barangays. Regarding "tagay"-fueled conjecture, I'm afraid that is not recognized as WP:RS - reliable source. hehe. And this page is not a forum, feel free to post in my own talk page in the future. So, now we have consensus regarding this dab page. Cheers! — KvЯt GviЯnЭlБ Speak! 05:48, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
