[edit]Since I'll be out of work in a couple of weeks, I am planning to expand on this article. Roughly it's about making section on the Baju Melayu Cekak Musang, the one with Teluk Belanga, and anything else that people usually wear with Baju Melayu, (Samping, Butang Baju Melayu and stuffs). I think it's a good time for people to upload pics of your Hari Raya Baju Melayu and Butang Baju Melayu. :D

Image and Content Edits for Baju Melayu Article
[edit]Hi everyone,
I hope it’s okay for me to bring this up. I’m still really new here and honestly feel a bit out of my depth compared to all of you who have so much more experience. I recently made some edits to the Baju Melayu article, including changing the image of Tani Yutaka to one of a young man wearing a modern Baju Melayu. I also added materials commonly used (cotton, linen, satin) and links to related articles like Samping and Songkok.
The edits were reverted, which I completely understand might have been because I didn’t explain myself well. I really just wanted to learn and improve the article in a way that better represents the traditional attire.
About Tani Yutaka, I understand his historical connection to the Baju Melayu, and I know some people consider him a heroic figure. But his legacy is quite controversial. While some admire his "Robin Hood"-like actions, others see his vigilante justice and especially his later role as a Japanese spy during WWII as problematic. I feel like using his image might unintentionally shift the focus from the attire itself to his divisive legacy, which might not be ideal for readers just wanting to learn about Baju Melayu.
I could be completely wrong here, and if I am, I’m really, really sorry. I just wanted to suggest that a more neutral, modern image might better represent the article. I’d really appreciate any feedback or guidance on how I can approach this better. Thank you so much for your time and patience with me!
