Hull numbers
[edit]Is it really correct to refer to these ships as "DD-xx" when they were all decommissioned before the "DD" hull classification symbol came into use in 1920? 216.255.171.122 (talk) 17:04, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, the classification symbols were retroactive, the US Navy uses DD to refer to these ships, [1]. At the beginning of each ship article the vessel is referred to by its anachronistic name.Pennsy22 (talk) 13:38, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
