Importance

[edit]

Considered low importance This does not make sense as it should be high importance 173.21.19.27 (talk) 08:57, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't line up with our importance scale. IceWelder [] 09:43, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it does 173.21.19.27 (talk) 01:19, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mid-level importsnce requires a game that "Achieved wide commercial success, critically acclaimed or had wide sub-culture effect outside of their country of origin". None of these apply. IceWelder [] 02:16, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was a victim of receiving this game. ♦ jaguar 22:54, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • "whose founder Augusto Bülow conceptualised, programmed, and designed the game" - seems redundant here
  • The lead summarises the article per WP:LEAD
Body
  • "Bad Rats is a physics-based puzzle video game in a similar style as The Incredible Machine and Armadillo Run" - to
  • "Carlos Alberto Kunkel Bülow designed the 3D models and their animations, while graffiti imagery was provided by Mateus "Mes" Silva Brum, additional art created by Gustavo Bülow, and music and sound design done by Márcio Stein.[5]" - I'd split the sentence by adding a full stop between 'Brum' and 'additional'
  • "This sequel was announced as Bad Rats Show with a trailer during E3 2016" - should it be in a trailer? I could be wrong, it could have been announced after the trailer for all I know

I can't justify putting this on hold so I'll promote this outright. It meets the GA criteria through its comprehensibility and is generally well-written. The above are very minor, and I know it would be difficult to expand this further. jaguar 00:07, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jaguar, thanks for the review. I made a few changes according to your points. You cited WP:LEAD, but I wasn't sure whether I summarised too much or too little. Could you quickly clarify? Regards, IceWelder [] 10:31, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
IceWelder, sorry I should have clarified. The lead summarises the article just fine accounting for its overall length. I don't believe it could be expanded any more without expanding the article itself - the lead aptly touches on the game's criticisms and its status as a "gag gift", which is what makes Bad Rats so cherished! ♦ jaguar 11:44, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: A short, but well written GA article on a video game, making it eligible for a DYK. The hook I found to be good enough, if a little terse. I know shorter is better for DYK entires, but perhaps adding a bit of context to why it was a gag gift would make it easier to understand. Possibly:

I have proposed that this game be added as an entry at List of video games notable for negative reception. Please consider contributing to the the discussion there. 93 (talk) 03:31, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
