[edit]I live in Ayr, Ontario and figured I'd add what I think might be interesting for others about this great village. I just added a snippet about the Fresh Ayr Festival, I'll add more local annual events as they happen and as I remember them <wink>. Thanks for whomever got this started. --Derekmaurer 17:24, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
I live in Ayr too!
[edit]It's great to see that some one finally got this page moving! Yay for Ayr. - Mike.C
Thanks for the Page I visited today whole seaching out the Nith River to its source.
I noticed a small Error on the page that showed Abel Mudge as Scottish-
The Mudge Family came originally from New London Connecticut and are my distant relatives. There leaves little doubt now as why many of these cousins LEFT Canada for new Frontiers in Michigan because likely they were involved in the REBELION of 1837 episodes in AYR.
Here is a Genealogy Link that will trace down to Abel Mudge whose family had established a MIllpond downstrean in what is now CANNING. (Formerly Mudge Hollow or Mudgemills.)

Hot-Air Balloons
[edit]Isn't it true that there is a manufacturer of hot-air balloons in Ayr? Canada Post issued a postage stamp within the past few years that had its first-day issue in Ayr in honour of the local industry, etc.
- Currently living in Ayr, I don't know of any place in Ayr that actually manufactures them, and I don't recall the postage stamp either. However there are a few places nearby where you can get rides on hot-air balloons, and so I assume that there must be a place relatively close in the countryside.
