I just read the second book, and I believe it was a professor Fortschen who was mentioned as the author of the Hoover bio. Fortschen has written many civil war sf books, including several with former US Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
Another easteregg (but I'm not putting it in the article yet because I don't remember which was captain and which was XO) was the captain and XO of the French ship Dessaix: Goscinny and Uderzo. These two are the writer and illustrator of the classic French comic series Asterix and Obelix: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Asterix_and_Obelix which many of us (in Quebec at least) read as children. Easter Egg?
I'm guessing someone has been running around changing the word 'Character' to easter egg, if this is not the case and for some reason this is the pertinent label for a list of characters could someone explain why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.78.53.8 (talk) 21:52, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
