Some of the content in the Avalanche article should be moved to Avalanche Rescue. Most avalanches do not involve people and rescue is not required. Avalanche Rescue is a separate topic and I think very valid for Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Somerandomicicle (talk • contribs) 22:49, 10 February 2009
This entire page is largely copied from the Rescue section of the Avalanche page, but there are no links to this page. In fact, all links I found about rescuing people are to the Avalanche page. – Corvus (talk) 04:32, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Currently the Avalanche article continues to have a well-written discussion of avalanche prevention and rescue. At least duplicates much (all?) of what is here. That article seems overall an appropriate size and topic and I recommend just deleting this article on Avalanche Rescue. Gierszep (talk) 02:08, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Avalanche Cords
The Section on Avalanche Cords contradicts itself in the last sentence. "Unfortunately, avalanche cords have been demonstrated to be effective and should not be used." - Vanguard27 (talk) 1 April 2011 —Preceding undated comment added 22:03, 1 April 2011 (UTC).
- Agreed this is contradictory sentence - it should be stated that the cords are "ineffective". BTW I found that answer by going to the better-written discussion under Avalanche. As noted above, I think this article on Avalanche Rescue should be deleted. Gierszep (talk) 02:08, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
