Kschroer105 (talk) 17:27, 13 September 2008 (UTC) Autotote is a company with a long tradition and history in the building and operation of race track totalisator systems. The American company was originally named Automatic Totalisators (USA) Ltd, and grew from the parent Automatic Totalisators Ltd. in Australia. It thrived long before the appearance of Scientific Gaming Corporation, it did not involve anybody named Weil, and the old Autotote had nothing to do with the Breeder's Cup Pick Six scandal.[reply]

It would be improper to fold the Autotote page into the Scientific Gaming page and would parallel the "swallowing up" of Autotote by Scientific gaming. Autotote may live on as a division of Scientific Gaming, but the original Autotote was peopled by a different type of incividual than the business men and computer types who now form Scientific Gaming, and should be documented on its own page, Kschroer105 (talk) 17:27, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • If I understand you correctly, you are saying the article is inaccurate when it says the company was "renamed", but rather was bought out and made into a division of Scientific Gaming. If that is the case, the article should be corrected of course, and I think we could keep the two articles seperate, with proper internal links of course. Upon further inspection, the merge tag was placed here a year ago and the person proposing it has never bothered to explain their reasoning, so I think we can consider the matter closed. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:34, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
