Undiscussed page move

[edit]

I have reverted an undiscussed page move to the title December 2019 Arbinda attack, because the page mover suggested there were other Arbinda attacks in 2019. Wikipedia is not a database of terrorist attacks and there is no need to have a separate article for each attack, as Wikipedia is not a news service either. The existing article could easily accommodate having more than one attack upon this place, with only a slight alteration in the title, by making it plural. As far as I can tell, Wikipedia has just one article about an attack in 2019 another about an Arbinda massacre in 2021, so there isn't any confusion as far as I can see. Another article must be written about one of these other attacks in 2019 before there is a need to disambiguate based on both the month and year. To be consistent with the way other similar events are named, usually only the year is used if more than one of the same event has occurred. There is no need to use a month to distinguish different events of the same kind, as one can view these as repeat occurrences, so call them attacks, and combine them into a single article, rather than having separate articles for each attack. Currently this article has no year, indicating that the attack does not need disambiguating in any case, as Wikipedia only has a single article by this title, and only "where" and "what" are needed in the title. The current concise title does not need to be more precise than it is. I am happy to discuss if the title needs having a year included. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 05:47, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
