Angerboda

[edit]

Angerboda, which is her name in normal English (I strongly disagree with this overly pedantic and quasi-scholarly fad of spelling), is perhaps better translated as "anger-bidder", where 'anger' has its original meaning as 'sorrow' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparviere (talkcontribs) 14:34, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This may be the case but a reference is required for the etymology to go on the article. As for the spelling, there is good reason for it. Check out: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Norse mythology). :bloodofox: (talk) 18:42, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Appearance in God of war

[edit]

Angrboda's most well known pop culture appearence is in god of war ragnarok, why does this addition keep being removed within the popular culture section? 78.18.60.238 (talk) 20:58, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Because no one bothers to add a WP:RS to support that statement, contrary to WP:VERIFY. TylerBurden (talk) 20:19, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added three seperate sources for my edit. At this point, going out of your way to remove it instead of also getting a "reliable" source is closer to griefing. What would even be considered a reliable source for sourcing a mythological beings appearance as a side character in a popular video game? 78.18.57.218 (talk) 00:48, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Neither Wikipedia, Fandom or IMDb are reliable sources. They are all user generated. If the appearance is notable enough to be included in this article, reliable secondary references will have reported on it. Wikipedia isn't meant to be a list of popular culture appearances, despite how eager gamers etc are to add them. TylerBurden (talk) 19:09, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
