Article: Amin al-Husseini Heading: Ties with the Axis Powers during World War II Subheading: Recruitment

First word of the 3rd sentence has a typo, should be changed from "Riven" to "Driven".

"Riven by interethnic conflict, the region's Jewish, Croat, Roma, Serb and Muslim communities suffered huge losses of life," Mxp071 (talk) 14:21, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fyi 'riven' is a word. It means to violently pull something apart. 47.232.228.16 (talk) 23:07, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This section in the article misquotes the source: “Fritz Grobba wrote on 17 July 1942 that al-Husseini himself had visited Oranienburg concentration camp and that "the Jews aroused particular interest among the Arabs. ... It all made a very favorable impression on the Arabs."[194]”

The actual wording in the original source is “By mid-1942 at the latest the Mufti was fully aware of what was happening in the concentration camps. Contrary to the wishes of the AA, three members of al-Kailani’s staff and one member of the Mufti’s staff visited the concentration camp at Sachsenhausen to the north of Berlin. ‘In particular the Jews aroused the interest of the Arabs.’ The visit left the Arabs with a ‘very favourable impression’. According to Obersturmführer Weise, who had been given the post of the Mufti’s liaison officer upon his arrival in Berlin and was thus duty bound to inform the Mufti of the matter, the visit lasted some two hours and had been ‘very satisfactory’: Grobba to Pol. VII, 17 July 1942, IfZ, Nbg. Dok., NG-5446.” Gensicke, Klaus (2011). The Mufti of Jerusalem and the Nazis: The Berlin Years. Vallentine Mitchell. ISBN 978-0-853-03844-3. p 119 footnote 54 (which itself is on p. 169). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.147.103.173 (talkcontribs) 21:29, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I verified this. Part of the confusion is that the Sachsenhausen camp was close to Oranienburg. However, Gensicke definitely does not say that the Mufti visited either place personally. I'll fix it. Zerotalk 01:41, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
