This is a message to the guy who has been editing the Hudson and Alvirne pages anonymously. Your edits have been GREAT, but it would be cool if you created a membership. Registering as a member of wikipedia is free, quick, and easy, and makes it MUCH easier for others to collaborate with you. Thanks again, and I look forward to working with you on maintaining the Hudson pages. Jayron32 05:41, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alvirne is a great school that has earned every word typed in this entry.

Recent cleanup

[edit]

I added a bunch of references, and did a bunch of copyediting. Still needed to do:

  • Cleanup, expand, and reference the history section. HLN has done several articles. SOMETIME in 2006 (I don't remember when) they did an extensive article on the founding of the school. If I (or anyone else) has the time to go through the archives to find it, that would be GREAT (the archives are availible online)
  • Cleanup, expand, and reference the athletics section. A list of state championships in sports would be FANTASTIC.
  • A reference for the name. It is well known local lore, but finding a print or web reference would be cool.

That's it. Feel free to do any of the above tasks, or any other improvements you think we need here! --Jayron32 18:58, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I went through and cleaned up a bit. The Theater section bugs me a bit as it seems to ramble on and on just listing the different performances and when they were done. It could probably be presented much cleaner and more concise if done in a table or bulleted list. Bdw4 00:32, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Osten Taylor

[edit]

Honorable is not the same as notable. He did graduate from Alvirne (class of 1994), and was a notable participant in Survivor. The fact that he quit in disgrace has no bearing on his notability. People know who he was. He graduated from Alvirne. He belongs. The more notable people we can reference as graduates of Alvirne, the more notable it makes the article, regardless of why they are notable. Wikipedia articles take a Neutral Point of View, and that means that equal weight is given to all notable people, regardless of why they are notable --Jayron32 05:41, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, and I believe most editors would agree you are right as well. I added his name, if you or someone else could add a proper source that proves that Osten Taylor went to Alvirne that would be great - Anonymous — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:18C:8601:2A20:D17:8635:1B38:E1B8 (talk) 19:22, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
