Relationship

[edit]

Maybe it would be relevant to know the relation of Salvador Allende to writer Isabel Allende. In The House of the Spirits, Esteban Trueba was a powerful and wealthy senator in the Conservative Party, and it seems he was the grandfather of Isabel Allende. Vints 07:36, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Salvador Allende was cousin with the father of Isabel Allende, the writer. In other words both shared a common grandfather: Doctor Ramón Allende Padín. Salvador Allende also had a daughter similarly named, so it seems to be a family name. No member of the Allende family was ever a conservative senator. Mel Romero 05:12, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If the relationship was first cousin once removed, then one or more of his grandparents would have been her great-grandparents. If that is the case, it should be clearly stated. Qzm (talk) 20:32, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
