In Nagercoil On 24 th December 2012 two Law College Students named Mr. G.George Belegin(9994440791) and Mr. Jayakumar (9443146512) Have Conducted a Fasting against Central Govt & Karunanidhi. The News will flashed Only in Thamil Murasu on 24.12.2012 , and Thinamalar Paper on 25.12.2012. The Students have a fire. They are good Politicians. Peoples must be Encourage them. All AIADMK Party Members Have asking to Encourage that Persons and Use them to Our Parliment Elections. Every District Peoples Can Contact them.

[edit]

The party logo had bee switched to different version a couple of times in the last two days[1][2]. I had reverted it on both instances since the "new version" looks more like a propaganda poster (with its captions Amma naamam vaazhga and MGR naamam vaazhga) rather than the original two leaves electoral symbol. Since the IPs seem to insist on the new version, I would rather leave it for other Wikipedia editors to decide on this issue (so as to avoid 3RR as well as hold any kind of conflict of interest since I am the original uploader of the version I back). Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 11:40, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That version was apparently created by B. Balamanigandan who has been doing quite a bit of propoganda/publicity work on wiki. I haven't seen much since that July article though. —SpacemanSpiff 20:12, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Wouldn't it be better to delete the picture in that case? Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 21:20, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The file is at Commons. If it's a true logo (which is what the note says), then it shouldn't be on Commons as it's a copy vio. If it's not, then I'm not sure what their policy is. You can go to Commons to figure that out, or check with a regular at Commons. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 05:21, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, as far as I can understand Indian party logos aren't copy righted. That is why we saw the fiasco between Chiranjeevi and DMK on "rising sun" a few years ago. These are just electoral symbols which Election commission of India approves to be used for electoral purposes so that the lack of ability to read wouldn't jeopardise the voting rites of illiterates. Former name

[edit]

Shouldn't the article spell out that it was formerly called as Anna Dravidia Munnetra Kazhagam (sans All India) and the addition of the prefix "All India" during the state of emergency. Or is that WP:UNDUE? --Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 12:21, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

REGARDING ALLIANCE WITH M.D.M.K

[edit]

The A.I.A.D.M.K. has finalised seat allocation to a number of new alliance partners, without finalising seat allocation to its long-standing ally M.D.M.K. and the seniormost of new allies,ie.NADALUM MAKKAL KATCHI led by ACTOR KARTHIK.As one hailing from SOUTHERN TAMILNADU,I am of the opinion that the above two parties have considerable pockets of influence in that part of that state.Furthermore,VAIGO has considerable influence all over TAMILNADU,more so in COIMBATORE,ERODE,TIRUPPUR&THENI DISTRICTS.In addition to the above parties,PURATCHI BHARATHAM PARTY,which was an ally of D.M.K.,for the last five years, has come out of above alliance. The above party has considerable pockets of influence in TIRUVALLORE,KANCHIPURAM&VELLORE DISTRICTS.I,THEREFORE,SUGGEST THAT THE ABOVE THREE PARTIES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO ALONE OR JOIN ANY OTHER ALLIANCE OR FORM A NEW ALLIANCE.THEY MAY BE PROVIDED SEATS IN THE ALLIANCE LED BY A.I.A.D.M.K. AS FOLLOWS:- M.D.M.K. -15 to 18 seats.

NADALUM MAKKAL KATCHI-3 seats

PURATCHI BHARATHAM -3 seats.

The above parties will be of immense help in capturing power by the A.I.A.D.M.K. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.201.17.179 (talk) 17:12, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remove Party Ideology in Infobox

[edit]

Previously stated ideologies, like Populism, Regionalism were not officially declared by the party. The term populism itself a vague term in international politics and how the previous editor determined that ADMK's party ideology is populism is not justified by the reference used by that person.

User: Vif12vf is pushing his own agenda in adding some unjustified ideologies as party ideology in infobox

[edit]

User: Vif12vf is pushing his own agenda in adding some ideologies not justified by related reference as party ideologies in infobox. The community should ask him to provide reference that justifies his addition or he should be blocked if he constantly adds ideologies that is not justified by reference.

This has nothing to do with my standard reverts, it has everything to do with the fact that you completely disregard the note in the infobox saying that you can't just make any edits to the section as you please, and that you subsequently proceed to remove information and sources unilaterally, which is vandalism by definition! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 12:24, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The note itself is invalid because, the note asks for related reference. But, none of the reference added there were justifying the ideologies added. So, that is no way vandalism. Keteage.

Lets talk political position!

[edit]

The AIADMK is a major regional political party around here, and has great grassroot support. As I can see from the history, @Rahul Vijay Kumar:, Who seems to be from Tamil Nadu had attempted to set the political position for the party without prior discussion in the talk page and @Vif12vf: had subsequently removed it for not having done so.

I understand why debating the political position's and ideologies might be necessary, But I dont see it at full force and the lack of political position and the inaccurate ideologies set is deeply concerning, As this has been the party that was in power for most of TN's history and still is a popular force.

I think we have to discuss the matter, and make a call on this one. I personally think the political position must be set to center-right as both their voter base, election manifestos and top leadership all appear to be center right in general, They are part of the national democratic alliance, which is a center-right coalition itself and thusly are part of the national center-right ecosystem. Their policies and approach to various matters of state such as freedom of business, lockdown enforcement, cultural and indigenous shielding had all been largely what some may characterize as 'right wing', Especially post the untimely demise of their populist leader J Jayalalithaa. The new diarchy type leadership between two major leaders EPS and OPS has primarily been in such way so far, So I guess one could say they are a center right.

I am ready to back my suggestion with proper, mainstream and neutral sources provided their is any kind of dialogue from others. I'd also like to note it'd be better off if people from this state can make some suggestions and have those suggestions be valued, rather than some one with an unclear idea of what politics here is like and may/may not show bias/prejudice. -- KindCowboy69 18:55, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@KindCowboy69 I don't think the party's Political position is anywhere near rightwing or centre-right. IMO, they've been simply obeying their NDA alliance overdogs after Jaya's demise. Making our own personal analysis on political position is WP:OR and we need multiple WP:RS for the political position. - SUN EYE 1 06:55, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Only party ideology that AIADMK claimed it had was Annaism. Adding populism as any party's ideology is definitely done with malignant intent, because no party wants to claim their political ideology is Populism lol :) I am adding reference to the news article about party's ideology. [1] [2] So, I am changing the party ideology from Populism. If people really think they should malign AIADMK by adding populism as ideology with some irrelevant news article as reference, I am not sure what to say to them.

I am removing populism, because i am not sure how it was added in first place without any consensus. Kakapo007 (talk).

Major problems

[edit]

This article has a number of problems. Firstly, the article has been a constant battleground for years, with edit-warring effectively being a common occurence here. Secondly, unsourced additions are way too common, and the article may need an extensive purge to remove unsourced details. Thirdly, the article spells out the entire electoral history of the party beyond what is actually necessary, and occasionally refers to poor electoral results as "humiliation". Lastly, history-section lends undue weight to party leaders, including their lifes outside the party itself! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 15:43, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
