Half Man Half Biscuit reference
[edit]Is it just me? I don't agree that Half Man Half Biscuit's reference to Ali Bingo is indicative of anything, especially as they throw the deliberate mis-rhyme in the lyric. Nothing against HMHB I would add. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.93.223.70 (talk) 03:08, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]In the (hopefully temporary) absence of the asked-for citations, I would say that I remember nearly all the TV appearances mentioned, he being a particular favorite of mine. --Robert EA Harvey (talk) 22:45, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Primary topic
[edit]I would assume that Ali Bongo Ondimba, the president of Gabon, should be the primary topic here. He is usually refered to as Ali Bongo in the media, not by his full name. --Tone 11:55, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Gabon is in the news currently but, per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, we should consider long term significance. Andrew D. (talk) 12:42, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- I see it's been moved. I'd say that a president of a country is more prominent than a magician, however you look at it. --Tone 16:40, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- I’ll be honest there, the first time I heard of Ali Bongo Ondimba was during the media reports of the situation in Gabon. Cuddy2977 (talk) 21:48, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
Dr Who
[edit]I can vaguely remember reading — somewhere — that Ali Bongo had acted as a magic consultant for the Doctor Who story, The Talons of Weng Chiang.
I’m blowed if I could tell you where, though.
Could someone verify that, and — if the results show he did — add it to the relevant entries?
Thanks.
