mother information seems wrong
[edit]Lillia and his father did not apparently meet or get married until he was 20 years old, mother must be david's first wife. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.207.195.58 (talk) 23:51, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
- That is correct – as verified by a Who's Who entry for Alexander as well as other biographical accounts of David Dallin – and I have corrected this article, and a couple of other pages, accordingly. Wasted Time R (talk) 11:25, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Wolfson Prize for History?
[edit]A bunch of sources say that German Rule in Russia, 1941-1945 won the Wolfson Prize for History. Except that the book was published in 1957 and per the Wolfson website the Wolfson History Prize was not created until 1972. Maybe the publishing of the revised edition in 1981 won it? No, the Wolfson website lists past winners and it's not on it. I think this is one of those things where somewhere along the line, Dallin's bio blurb got a mistake in it, and then the mistake was just replicated over and over. Accordingly, I've removed it from the article. Note the book did win the George Louis Beer Prize, per this American Historical Association page. Wasted Time R (talk) 11:25, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
