This appears to be a (bad) mechanical translation.

It is. As I knew Alan and his family (briefly), I will do a proper translation of the French original a.s.a.p. -- Picapica 12:44, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Have now completed the translation. It is "as is" in the French (apart from some minor tidying up of chronology, etc.) - any POV in the original is unchanged. Hopefully, the article will at least now constitute a better starting-point for anyone else wanting to contribute to the En-language article on Alan's life. -- Picapica 15:48, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
