Suggestion to merge this article with the one for adipic acid

Adipate is not a substance, only the ion formed by the deprotonation of adipic acid. As such, the value of a separate article is limited and is not how almost all other organic acids are treated (for example citric acid and citrate, hexanoic acid and hexanoate). Following a discussion at WT:WikiProject_Chemicals#Carboxylic_acids_vs_carboxylate_anion/esters, this and many similar articles are being merged with their parent acid, leaving the original pages as redirects.
