Aircraft & Characters
[edit]Why were these deleted? There was no reason at all to get rid of these.
A lot of work was ruined with this "trimming", pointless to delete something and give it a 'dicitonary' layout, as in two sentences instead of the hundreds that expalined the game before. I'm going to stop usuing this site, and surely others will too.
24.131.40.5 22:08, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Lyle
I just noticed that the Aircraft section was deleated to. I'll agree there was no reson to delete it. There are simmilar sections for all of the other AC games, this is no different. If anyone knows how to restore things like that, I beleive it was deleted on 22:16, 9 July 2006 by an unregistered user. I'd do it myself but I'm still such a noob here I have no idea how to. Cbale2000 18:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I Found The Aircraft Section Some user had the entire ACZ article saved on thier profile before all the edits happend. If no one objects in the next, say, 48 hours or so, I will restore them.
Voices / Actors
[edit]could someone possibly find the names of the english voice actors, as well as the live action actors themselves, thanks. Maybe you can google them or something.
Assault List
[edit]Is it possible to format the section so we have two or three columns instead of all left-justified? I'd try to do it, but I have to go to class. I'm not talking about physically adjusting each line, just with the use of tags or some sort of meta-heading etc. IdoAlphaOmega 09:27, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Spoilers
[edit]It's been long enough. It's time to start putting down more factual stuff regarding the game. I'm not going to be satisfied with "is unclear what X..." and "perhaps character Y will..." statements. I've put down a story framework to the best of my ability surrounding Cipher, Pixy, and PJ. Now's your chance to make a mental note not to read the article if you don't want to have something spoiled for you. A spoiler warning is up at the top; let's hope that people heed it if they truly don't want to have things spoiled for them. Also, here's a notice - if you add information and I've removed it, please do not add it again without providing pertinent information as to why it should be re-added. IdoAlphaOmega 07:01, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Namco has announced that the release date is set for April 25 ThePeaceMaker
- Could you give a link to where they did that, since I'm certainly not poking around ever corner of the Namco website, let alone all the gaming news sites out there. Tempest2
- Gamefaqs also say 25 April. Chief of Naval Operations 07:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- And Gamespot and GameFAQs also said March 31, and 1Up said something like April 4 until recently, and so on. All that matters it what Namco says. Tempest2
- Yeah but the GameFAQs hardly mistakes. Maybe they have the right info regarding the date but those slackers from Namco US are just too lazy to add it to their site. Chief of Naval Operations 09:42, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well it is official, release date is April 25, and unlike others I can provide a valid source this time: http://www.namco.com/games/acecombatzero/ and their flash site is up: http://acecombatzero.namco.com/ . Timeless Enigma 22:42, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ummm. Duh? Everyone knew the release date to be sure, 100% locked in stone by the end of March. You don't even need official confirmation when you can preorder the US AC0 at any local game store, they all tell you it'll be there on March 25. My local EBgames, however, gets the shipment at April 26. -RPharazon 00:19, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Can anybody confirm whether or not the aces in the SP mission are random? I keep getting the same guys to face when I play, but I have only played it on Ace difficulty recently. I've changed the mission description so it's technically ambiguous, but it should either be nailed down to "random" or listing the exact aces. IdoAlphaOmega 13:55, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's random. But for some reason Gelb was the always the first Ace Squadron I face. Chief of Naval Operations 15:18, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Cover Art
[edit]Hey Guys I added the Box Cover Art Zero cool1990 18:00, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Nice! F-15 eh? Guess this time AC team will use Eagles as their mascots just like they used tomcats extensively in AC5. BTW , I told you guys that Pixy likes F-15s. :) Chief of Naval Operations 17:45, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
- I wonder if you start with an F-15 in the game. That would be a uge boost from the crappy F-4 you normally start with.Burning phoneix 12:12, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think so. No one would bother buying any aircraft that inferior to F-15 otherwise. Besides in 1995 F-4 was still considered combat-worthly. Chief of Naval Operations 08:46, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
They got cover art from the american version at http://ps2.gamedaily.com/game/features/?gameid=4676&id=936&t=feature thepeacemaker
Other Aces
[edit]I noticed that in one of the gameplay videos they talk about Huckebein and at that time i was thinking if it was pops' code name. In the video, galm squadron chases him then i think the rot squadron shows up and the Galm squadron turns around and fights. I have heard rumors that at some time or another we will be able to see bartlett and pops. so i was wondering if they were true. thepeacemaker
- We won't know till the game comes out.Burning phoneix 07:13, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
It looks like you cannot choose planes for pixy. Every picture that shows pixy and the player shows that Pixy uses his trusty F-15. Not saying this is a downside but it would have helped if we could've chosen planes for our wingmen.ThePeaceMaker
- It's kind of natural if you ask me. Would you feel nice if someone else choose the plane you're going to fly in the mission? Maybe pixy has some sort of emotional attachment to his F-15. I not sure but this F-15 may be the F-15 pixy lost it's right wing before. Chief of Naval Operations 21:31, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Regarding the topic about pops, i found the video i was looking at. it turns out that the Schwarze squadron is chasing him and they turn around to fight the Galm Squadron. The link for the video is: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sim/acecombatzero/media.html its the first video on the list.ThePeaceMaker
- By the looks of the trailer (if you pause it or play it real slow) one J35 Draken and one RAFELE M make up her (The woman of undying faith) squadron. But I can't be certain. The Squad of SU-47 Berkuts is actually the same squad you fight in the last mission of Ace Combat 5 right before you take down the SOLG, the Gault Squadron. With regards to PJ he becomes your full time copilot after <MASSIVE SPOILERS> Pixy defects to "A World with no Boundaries" mercenary group and tries to shoot you down and fails. Though Pixy comes back and rips through and kills PJ with a TLS equiped ADFX-02 (experimental version of the FALKEN) </MASSIVE SPOILERS>. Once again you dont get to choose which aircraft PJ flys. DXPetti
- You're serious...? Not even pixy! :( Maybe you should add this info to the article. But you should add why he betrayed the player and what happened to him afterwards. Do not forget "spoiler warning" though. Chief of Naval Operations 13:33, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Those idiots at the ACE WEB still haven't add other Aces to the site. Talk about being lax. Chief of Naval Operations 08:07, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- I added information about the remaining ace squadrons; it's not a lot about each person, but it'll fill out eventually. I'm just waiting for their insignias to become available. Oh yeah, SCHNEE 1 is listed as Erich "Phonix" Hillenberand in one of the interviews and on the main website. Are we sure that it's supposed to be "Phoenix"? IdoAlphaOmega 22:17, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh , thanks for reminding. I checked with my sister's german dictionary. Looks like we are the ones making mistake. -_-' Phoenix is indeed "Phönix" in german. Sorry for misunderstanding everyone. I'm changing it right now. Good job adding the remaining pilots by the way Ido. One more thing , I think we should add what happened to the characters after the war. We know Sorcerer and Wizard. PS: They updated the site today. Still nothing about other aces. ...You think they do it in purpose? Chief of Naval Operations 11:10, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
EXTRA! EXTRA! Characters section updated! It has PJ and Eagle Eye. About goddamn time! Chief of Naval Operations 10:51, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've been wondering, are their quotes really important? They just happen to be the sound samples featured on the website, if nobody objects I'd like to remove them. deadkid_dk 07:11, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
I made some changes in the characters sections. You can just revert them if you don't like it. Later. Chief of Naval Operations 17:03, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- Judging from your assistance , I guess you all liked it. Thanks a lot and good work. I'm thinking about adding bios of other pilots (aside from the commanders) when I got the english version. Chief of Naval Operations 20:33, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm a bit skeptical about adding in ther aces' information on this page as it's not particularly necessary knowledge in relevance to the story or gameplay. A seperate article would work, but the other pilots in each Ace Squadron has just as much importance as any of the normal, named pilots. IdoAlphaOmega 03:59, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well at least we should add what happened to the aces after the war is over. We know several of their fate, but what about the others? Chief of Naval Operations 18:35, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Nah. Let the people find out for themselves. If you tell a person what the outcome will be, it won't be so much fun. I down aces because I want to listen to their life story in the Assault Records. If someone tells me that n Ace dies in n way, it takes the fun out of doing the missions over after you beat them on all the styles. The aces are in there because they're an added replayability factor. Don't you wish you could read the life story of "Cypher" from Fortress or that female F-14D ace in Mission 3 in Ace Combat 5? Namco added it unspoiled for a reason. - RPharazon 02:22, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- Eh? Zipang was a female? Chief of Naval Operations 08:05, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
General Aircraft Discussion
[edit]Does anyone know if they are going to bring back the laser for the falken? ThePeaceMaker
- According to this thread, the Falken will have the TLS, XLAA, and FAEB as special weapons. Hopefully, I'll be able to confirm/deny this later tonight or tomorrow after school. IdoAlphaOmega 03:02, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, those are the weapons it has. Took me a while to get it too, had to beat Expert mode. IdoAlphaOmega 01:27, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Just found out some more info, the ADFX-02 what Pixy uses against Cipher (and PJ) is equiped with all three special weapons. So you have to contend with the Tactical Laser System, Ballistic Missles and a Infinite ECM pod :| (Also this is what makes the ADFX-02 different to the ADFX-01, 02 has all the special weapons equiped where as the playable ADFX-01 only can be equiped with one special weapon per mission). I would add this to the wiki but IMO it gives away the most interesting part of Zero's story line and I don't want to spoil it for the general public just yet :) Maybe after the US release of the game. I also confirmed that The Woman of Undying Faith is apart of a 2 person squad named "Espada" and pilots a RAFALE M. Her wingman/woman pilots a J35J Draken. DXPetti
- The ADFX 01 and 02 are exactly the same plane and have exactly the same specifications. The 02 plane does not have all three weapons equipped at the same time. It switches from TLS to MPBM to ECMP after you damage it enough. In essence, you have to "down" the plane three times to beat it. IdoAlphaOmega 07:57, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- I meant physically equipped/mounted on the plane. DXPetti
- And I meant physically equipped as well. The ADFX-02 only has one equipped at a time. After you down it the first time, it doesn't have the TLS on its back. After you down it the second time, its MPBM are not equipped, etc. IdoAlphaOmega 17:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- When you first fight Pixy who pilots the ADFX-02 the TLS is mounted on the back of the plane, the MPBM and the ECM ares mounted under the wing. Hence all 3 are there and mounted/equiped. Whether he uses them or not is irrelevant. My whole point being is when the player uses the ADFX-01 only 1 weapon is physicially mounted/attached to the ship. DXPetti
- Whoops, my mistake. Yeah, they're mounted underneath, but only the MPBMs and TLS are visible. Seems that the ECMP is carried internally. image. IdoAlphaOmega 21:13, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Japanese Release
[edit]Well, according to the current time, Ace Combat Zero has been released in Japan. Is everyone ready to handle the influx of visitors/information? Personally, I'll stay away from this topic until it's released in North America. I don't want the game to be ruined for me. :P - RPharazon 22:23, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- I've played it and beaten it, and I would venture to say that I have a pretty good grasp on the mechanics of most things in the game, but I'm reluctant to start deluging this page with information regarding such things as the exact nature of the ranking system, etc. I'll probably hold off on doing major plot/story additions as well as mission descriptions for a little bit. In the worst-case scenario, I'll just have to put in a whole bunch of spoiler marks. IdoAlphaOmega 00:58, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Ido, does it have an english langauge option? I heard some rumors that you can switch to english for subtitles from options menu. BTW , you finished it one day? That's fast , man. Slam a QAAM to Rot 1's six for me. :) Chief of Naval Operations 08:41, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Close to 90% of the game is in English in one form or another. MOST of the menus are entirely in English with only a very few things in Japanese (options descriptions, and things like that), but they're pretty easy to figure out if you're familiar with the options of most games. All of the audio can be selected from either JP or EN when you start a new game, but subtitles come in only Japanese and two options: on or off. So, if you want to know what a de/briefing is about, just listen to the announcer. Anybody with a decent knowledge of English who has played Ace Combat 4 or 5 will be able to pick this game up with absolutely no problems. The only thing that I'm not sure about is how to "unlock" the Falken. It's definitely not memory-card data-based (most likely all S ranking somewhere or another). Yes, the game was a bit short on a single playthrough, but I've yet to beat every level on each M/S/K ranking. IdoAlphaOmega 16:18, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- 1 method of unlocking the FALKEN and the X-02 is memory card based. You have to have AC4 and AC5 saves but the only catch is the saves have to be from AC4 and AC5 in the same region as your copy of AC0. In other words saves from North American copies of AC4 and AC5 wont work with a Japanese copy of AC0. DXPetti 04:48, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- I got AC0 today, and unlocked the X-02 after beating the first mission. I have AC04 and AC5 saves, all beaten on Ace. Although the X-02 costs an exorbirant amount of money (200k-ish) and you can't afford it for most of the first playthrough. I have not unlocked the ADF-01 as of yet. AC0 is a wonderful game. In mission 7, I was 300 points from the 16000 point goal, when I got shot down by an unexpected missile. - RPharazon 03:39, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Trivia
[edit]I was looking at the Trivia section and it says Pops name is Wolfgang Butcher. I thought his name was Peter N. Beagle, or was that just an alias to get into the OADF, like Pearrult accused?
- Exactly. Chief of Naval Operations 17:02, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- Just checking to make sure, i'll add that to electrosphere then. stuka2 20:57, April 2006
- Sure, but... would you mind me asking what does the Electroshphere (AC3) has anything to do with Pops? Chief of Naval Operations 09:40, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Uhh, the Website, dedicated to AC info, not the game. don't be silly. stuka2 17:17, April 2006
- Oh sorry. My bad. :) Chief of Naval Operations 22:25, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Mobius 1 does appear in the SP mission under Ace Difficulty, but that's already stated in the mission description. Doesn't bother me, but it should probably be put in only one of the two. IdoAlphaOmega 14:40, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Wow. There are so many nostalgic things in this game. It's like a nostalgia orgy. I'll be looking forward to it this Wednesday (My local EBGames has it on Wednesday. I placed a preorder! :D) - RPharazon 16:28, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Somebody keeps changing it to rumored. A) Play the game first before making edits B) the SP mission bends the rules, technically, even the normal aces you shoot down are already shot down C) Edge, Chopper, and Archer appear in MP Mission 7, even though they don't become pilots for years after. IdoAlphaOmega 00:58, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- And it could have been a different Heartbreak-1 and Huckebein in the game as well. It's doubtful in both cases. The multiplayer missions, not being tied to the story, can take place at any time with any character(s) related to any of the Ace Combats even if it's not chronologically sound or feasible. IdoAlphaOmega 13:53, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
I found at the end of the Trivia section, it says "there is an ace called Regen as in reference to Ronald Regan. he flys a F-117." I doubt it's a reference to Ronald REAGAN (see the link, also). Am I right about it not being a reference, or is it?
- Personally, whenever I see "Regen" I associate it with the Final Fantasy magic spell Regen which recovers health. I just found out that Regen is a location in Germany: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Regen Timeless Enigma 06:08, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Just delete it. What does Ronald Reagan has anything to do with F-117? Except for the fact that Reagan was the president of the country that produced that plane? Location is much more likely as Belka is based on Germany. Chief of Naval Operations 10:45, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Haha, I was just going to post on this, looks like the consensus is that it should be taken out. IdoAlphaOmega 12:00, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Uh , excuse me gentlemen, but can anyone explain me what does Espada team has anything to do with 9/11 incident? Chief of Naval Operations 16:47, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- ITZ A CONPIRACYLOLOLOLWTFOMGBBQ!/!1!1 Okay, in all seriousness though, it's just a paranoid fanboy who posted that up. Namco wouldn't be that stupid to insult the precious sensitivities of their market. So, in conclusion, just a coincidence, and I say we remove the fact. - RPharazon 19:54, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
I propose a new policy of Trivia. All trivia facts must be posted in the talk page before addition to the article for public inquiry. The Trivia section is getting huge and hard to maintain, and I'm not entirely sure that all the so called 'facts' are actually true and pertain to the game. There have been too many dumb and fake trivia postings that I think come from a certain site of fanboys and misled people. All we need to do is put a "Please visit the Talk page before adding any facts to the Trivia" sign at the beginning of the section. Any agreements, comments, disagreements? - RPharazon 14:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
I just split the trivia section off into its own article. It was a bit big.--KrossTalk 17:20, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
I think we should start trimming the list of some of the more dodgey info like all the paint schemes.Burning phoneix 10:49, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
On the main page under Trivia it says that "Hresvelgr may be a rough translation of the Norse god Hræsvelgr who works, in legend, with another god called Garm. In this mythology, Hræsvelgr is a giant eagle whose name means "Corpse Swallower".......Garm is NOT one of the gods, but the hound that guards the entrance to Hel, whom the god Tyr fights at Ragnarok and they both kill each other. Hresvelgr is also NOT a "rough translation of the god Hræsvelgr " as Hræsvelgr was also NOT a god but a jotun (giant).I deleted the reference.208.252.26.3 19:12, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
SpigotMAp just removed the trivia section, but not before posting a Long explanation. you think it was justified?Eaglestorm 01:26, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- If you want it in the article, integrate it in to the main text. Trivia sections are against wikipedia guidelines, see WP:TRIVIA for more information. Like I said, if you can integrate any of it in to the text, go right ahead, but as far as I could see, none of the text added anything to the article, most of it was speculation and fancruft. SpigotMap 03:34, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Question!
[edit]Why does it say "US release: April 25. Out in stores April 27." in the release box. I got it on April 26, and that was for Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It varies in place to place, as copies usually take longer/shorter to get to smaller places. I'm omitting the 'Out in stores' part until someone can give me a really good explanation. - RPharazon 21:21, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
That's the day the game ships out from the warehouses, that's why you see stores getting them at diffrent times. :) Burning phoneix 09:04, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- Good explanation. The "Out in stores" part is not staying though. - RPharazon 13:28, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
when will ace combat zero come out in australia [User Alpha3x]
Crow Team's KIA status
[edit]This isn't to dispute PJ's death but the deaths of Crow 1 and Crow 2. Where does it specifically state that these two were killed? In The Stage Of Apocalypse, after the nuclear detonations, Crow 1 and Crow 2 can both be heard on the radio, and throughout the remainder of the mission all three Crow aircraft are in the air. Perhaps their deaths have been assumed because they no longer appear in any other missions? I think the (KIA) tags should be removed. (MIA) may be acceptable but whenever I play that mission I naturally assume that Pixy is the only one who is not accounted for. Timeless Enigma 03:58, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I didn't think I saw any of the Crow team get shot down until PJ, even on the nuclear detonations. If it could be confirmed, someone should change it. While on the subject of Crow, does anyone know the names of the first 2 pilots? --Aiyaka 05:12, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Actually we're not even sure PJ died either. Chief of Naval Operations 10:45, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- He's almost certainly dead, but his corpse was not recovered, which is why he's MIA. The strategy guide states: "PJ was killed on December 31, 1995 in a massive attack by the "A World With No Boundaries" army."
- The Crow Team itself didn't die, as PJ turned into Galm 2 after 'The Stage of Apocalypse'. You just don't see Crow team anymore. As for PJ's death, it's confirmed. Easily. At the end credits, it shows a plate of metal, with some flowers by it (Presumably from his girlfriend/fiancee) by a lake. Avalon was a facility next to a dam, therefore, underneath a lake. - RPharazon 13:06, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, but the briefing guy says that Crow Team is joining you, and PJ is the only one...24.152.196.93 11:58, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- You could just put MIA presumed dead. --72.139.78.65 02:05, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
you should check out the assualt records and look up "rudiger schmitt" aka mondlicht and if u read on it it says he shoots down 2 aircraft coincidentally 2 aircraft from crow are never heard from again thusly they combine crow 3 and galm 1 and ther ya go
Ivrean Line?
[edit]In the mission 07 description it says that you have to attack Glatisant which is on the Ivrean line but in my game it's the hydrian line. Which one is correct?
- It's Mt.Ivrea, and the Hydrian line. -RPharazon 16:38, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
- Cipher, Pixy and several allied aircraft attack the Ivrean Line, Belka's first line of defense (possibly an allegory to the German Siegfried Line). It Says Ivrean line. I'm confused. ;_;Burning phoneix 20:45, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going with Hydrian line as well, the trivia was user-input and could have been based on the faulty mission description. IdoAlphaOmega 17:14, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Quotes
[edit]The quotes are getting rather lengthy. I think we should delete them and put a link to the Wikiquote article there. --72.139.78.65 00:02, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Crow 1/2 Status
[edit]It never actually clarifies in game what happened to these 2, I thought they were supposed to be killed in the explosion, as it doesnt show them on the radar after it occurs, until and unless there is ever proof that they survived, I think the part about them being reassigned should be left out.
They're not dead. Crow Team is still flying a 3-plane formation, theres still a blue radar signature, so fly toward that, and you see 3 planes. Crow 1 and 2 survive the blast.
the reason they are not dead is because they flew out of the operation airspace and then you get ambushed by an enemy squadron of su-27's. damn bastards.
Article needs some major trimming
[edit]This reads a lot less like an encyclopedia article than a GameFAQS walk-through. It is not within the scope of a general encyclopedia to list every airplane in a game, nor how to earn every medal, nor list all of the characters and missions. There is probably a game walk-through wiki out there that would gladly take this kind of information, but Wikipedia ain't it. --Cyde↔Weys 15:16, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Maybe transwiki to StrategyWiki? Just make sure that their content is under the GFDL and include all of the Wikipedians who worked on it here as authors. --Cyde↔Weys 15:20, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Nevermind, they're currently in the process of switching away from GFDL to a custom license they're working on that's tightly based on Creative Commons. Unfortunately, as of now, Creative Commons is incompatible with the GFDL. --Cyde↔Weys 20:33, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Alright, I've done a lot of trimming. The characters section needs to be rebuilt with just a brief amount of info on the main character, Solo Wing Pixy, PJ, the narrator, and, uhh, anyone else who's majorly notable. The trivia section really needs to be trimmed down to a few choice tidbits. I've preserved a version of the article from before the trimming at User:Cyde/Ace Combat Zero. --Cyde↔Weys 21:35, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I think the Trivia section is fine as it is. It is not uncommon to see this kind of secition in wiki, especially when we consider the fact how many people love to find out interesting facts and real world counterparts behind a game/film. --NoName
Well, I think the Trivia section is a bit too gigantic for its own good. It's just as big as the rest of the article, and some of the things there have bad spelling and grammar. I'd rather see it gone, moved to a special article ("Trivia in the Ace Combat Series" or something) or just trimmed and weeded. - RPharazon 22:07, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I've brought back a trimmed characters section and trimmed the trivia section somewhat, I still think the Trivia section should be moved to it's own article with a few good ones left in the main ACO article.Burning phoneix 22:14, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Not this "stuff" again! Both the Ace Combat 5 and Ace Combat 4 have full mission descriptions AND full aircraft tables which ARE different from Zero's. Trivia: Atomic Bomb
[edit]The atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, not June 6 that was D-Day. I fixed the error. Noha307 21:12, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Err... You sure about that? I was pretty sure it was June 6. I don't remember anything about August. I was pretty sure that in the cutscene the guy said June 6......... I'll go back and check the game again... Cbale2000 23:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Nevermind I wasn't reading it in the right context. I thought you were reffering to the Atomic bomb in the game. Cbale2000 23:19, 14 November 2006 (UTC) The bomb was droped on August 7 (USA)and August 6 (Japan)Tu-49 00:38, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Morals/ Themes
[edit]I can feel some strong morals coming on here, at the end of the game; but I cannot identify them. Somthing to do with borders. The last cutscene is important, any help?--Gerrado 12:44, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Pixy realizes that his dream of a peaceful world is quixotic, naive crap. Zaku Two 23:37, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, does this need to be included in the article? --Gerrado 14:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't believe so. Burning phoneix 07:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
I think that the theme, as in other Ace Combat games (and many other Japanese video games) is that of anti-war. --Kurt Leyman (talk) 21:24, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
my lil dialog for a mission. comments plaese.
[edit]Well first i think they should have a squadren maker. Where you make a squadren name, plane, colors, and pilot names. Ace Combat Zero had great music and Ace dogfights. So what they should do is make things kinda realistic like not haveing 10 on 2 aircraft. Now i want to know if anyone has a storyline that the new game should have. ONLINE GAMEPLAY MUST BE ADDED!
Dogfight Dialog by me

plane 4 "Oh great Belkan Aces..."
plane 2 "So #4 this will be your first dogfight right?"

Cool, a little crazy...but neat. Except for the part where I get shot down!

PJ not dead!
[edit]I've just completed the game (again) and I've watched the last cutscene. I think that the guy who says: "I bailed out here, the catain was gone. I've lived a comfartable life since then, and I probably have him to thank for that." Is PJ. You don't see his face but the camera is panning across pictures of two men, and a woman and two children. This could be a reference that PJ's girlfriend, who his wingmates annoy him about on various missions, has 2 children with PJ. You idiot! that's Gelb#2 not PJ.
As for the part with the airoplane part with flowers laid on it. Didn't it say that Cipher dissapeard after the mission (or war). So many peope who "Watched him go off on sortie" (Pixy), his 'fans' may presume he was killed. But that is just a assumation, because it shows Ciphr landing, doesn't it? Please post your thoughts on this. Thanks. --Gerrado 12:14, 18 March 2007 (UTC) The fans can't believe he's dead because after the last mission,AWACS says, "Let's go back home we don't want to keep anyone waiting for you. So PJ's plane is the one with flowers around it.
I'm Villakid and that was not PJ. That was Gelb 2 who was shot down and lived in the capital of ustio. The other guy in the picture was his captin who was killed fighting with Galm. Villakid 1:15 18 March 2007
But he sounds different. If you compare the two voices they sound different. (I'm losing my argument) --Gerrado 19:04, 19 March 2007 (UTC) Well people's voices sound different over the plane's radio.
I havn't seen the video in a while but i think the bed of flowers with a piece of metal is the mark that shows that P.J is dead. If it has a heart mark on it that's his plane.Villakid March 19
Dude, that was Gelb 2. Watch the first interview with him.
This is villakid again. It is P.J's plane. the picture of the metal slab has the crow team symbol. HE'S DEAD!
This is MafiaMan88. um both you all are wrong because PJ was shot down by "pixy" at the V2 silo and never returned. oh and at the end Cipher and PJ didn't land they both are GONE!!!!! because when Ciphers plane was about to land the camera did a 180 degreee turn and when it was done turning Ciphers plane wasn't there!!! April 24 2007
Dude, think about it, that's just a metaphor that shows that noone knows where he is. Plus, when Pixy ends his final interview he says "Will he see this", which means that at least Pixy thinks Cipher is alive. Noha307 19:36, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
God... I hope he died. The guy gave me the shits as soon as he arrived! Blah blah blah, girlfriend. Blah blah blah, polo. Piss and freaking moan any freaking time you got stuck with him on your wing. I swear, Pixy may have turned traitor, but at least he STFU at times! (192.43.227.18 (talk) 07:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC))
Razgriz duel in 2 player
[edit]in the multiplayer there is a squad battle senario and Razgriz was there. Is there a way to fight Razgriz ib the Guanlet? I don't think you can face the Razgriz. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Villakid (talk • contribs) 02:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC).
Philosophy
[edit]The quote that appears in the loading screen for the early missions was made by Blaise Pascal and goes as follows:
- For after all what is man in nature? A nothing in relation to infinity, all in relation to nothing, a central point between nothing and all and infinitely far from understanding either.
Franck Drake 16:33, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
PJ's Flowers
[edit]I think PJ might not be dead. In the last mission, he said he bought flowers for his girl. Maybe he ejected, and put these flowers next to his plane to mourn for it? Anyone have anything to say about this?
Why would PJ mourn his plane? he can just get a new one. think about it.
- I have three comments on that: 1. Who mourns for their plane, no offense but it just sounds sort of stupid. 2. If he did survive why would he put the flowers near his plane, wouldn't he still give them to his girlfriend. 3. I'm not leaning to any side but, just because theres wreckage doesn't mean he's dead. Noha307 19:29, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Emotional pilots? I've heard of it before, but who knows? I'm just trying to put an idea on the table in case someone knows something we don't. Maudy7 03:41, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not saying they can't be emotional, I'm just saying it seems odd. Noha307 02:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I also find that that could be very odd. I'm just laying a clue on the desk for someone to find.Maudy7 02:48, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Decorations
[edit]This article is heavily decorated with images for the overly long squadron sections, might consider cleaning that up. Are the aircraft in game actually called, for example "F-15" or do they just look like the F-15 and have a different name in game? SpigotMap 17:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Some are named in the article as they are in the game. As for clean-ups, the lay-out's already good as it is. Eaglestorm 02:14, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- The layout might be good, but the article is mainly in universe information and speculation. Do the images actually add anything to article? What does an image of a patch tell someone about the game? SpigotMap 03:26, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the removal of the character section
[edit]I personally think that we should keep the character section, although the editor who removed it said they were "un-notable", they are the "bosses" of certain levels, the "elite" Belkan Squardrons. I think we should re-add them. Cheers, JetLover (talk) 22:08, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the characters section because it was a very comprehensive and detailed list of characters whose significance is not made clear - it was a bit overkill. There was also very extensive use of non-free images, which sould not be used unless necessary, and did not have fair-use rationale. It would make for a better, more readable article to write a paragraph or so about the significant characters if this is needed. Miremare 22:18, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
A certain picture
[edit]In the game, there is a picture of Cipher and Pixy in their F-15's banking off to the right. It's a pretty neat shot, and is featured often. It's pretty important in the game (proof that Cipher exists) and I was wondering, maybe we could put it on the page. Here's a link to a pic: [1] Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 23:27, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't personally see that it would add much to the article, especially being a fair use image. SpigotMap 00:03, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Zero lyrics
[edit]Anyone know what the lyrics are for that last mission song? --Hydrokinetics12 (talk) 06:07, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
The fate of Cipher
[edit]Hello people!! I've read a theory in another wiki in which is implied that Cipher actually became Mobius 1. What do you think about that? I think it could make sense, after all there are only nine years of difference between the events of both games (Zero and 04). The article presents some evidence. --Dracomoth (talk) 23:31, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- No it will not be a worthy addition and Namco never specifically stated anything to the fact. --Eaglestorm (talk) 03:21, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Well I think he fact that it is a worthy a addition or not is a matter of personal preference, and as so doesn't count as an argument to deny the possibility. Also the fact that Namco never stated anything isn't also an argument. Namco never said that Cipher became Mobius 1, but they never said it didn't happen either. For me there is enough evidence to at least say it is possible. After all, Mobius 1 is the pilot we know the least about, for example about blaze and his teammates we knew at the start of the game that they were young rookies, As for Cipher we know that he was a mercenary pilot before the beginning of the belkan war. As fot Mobius 1, we don't know anything about him before the point we see him taking of with that F-4 at the beginning of the game. Also, it seems (except for the Megalith mission) that he is the only member of the "Mobius" Squadron, which could indicate that his superiors already knew he was an excellent pilot, and he didn't need no wingmen (or maybe he didn't wanted any, because he lost his two previous with anything he could do). Another evidence is the fact that Mobius 1 is never called by its callsign, like for example Galm 2, which is called Pixy many times in the game, and the members of the Wardog squadron (Wardog 1 being called "Blaze" and so on). I think that there is a possibility that Mobius 1 callsign is Cipher, and so he is the very same pilot of the Galm team. Also, the guy from Sky Eye since the first mission talks to Mobius 1 with a degree of respect, like he knows he is speaking to an already proven ace and hero. At least you must admit is possible.--Dracomoth (talk) 17:04, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Dracomoth and welcome to Wikipedia. While this may be a possibility, you would need a better source to add it. Other wikis are not considered reliable sources (see WP:V). If you find a more reliable source then you can add the information. Anyways, this and other Ace Combat articles need alot of work. Feel free to edit them :) rCX (talk) 20:51, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Osea in Real Life?
[edit]Although it is interesting to know that there is an Osea in real life (it's an island near Britain), I feel that it is irrelevant to include a link to the page on Osea Island. So, I've removed it.
