Name

Just off the titles, we have ʿAbd-al-Razzāq Samarqandī, Abd al-Razzaq Samarqandi, Abd al-Razzaq al-Samarqandi, and Abdur Razzaq. Wilfred Schoff's Periplus gives Abd-ar-Razzak as a dated transcription. No one calls this guy "Abd-ur-Razzaq". I suppose it's an attempt to transcribe the supposed Persian pronunciation (?) but we should still follow WP:COMMON WP:ENGLISH forms for the running text of the article and not go WP:OR own way. — LlywelynII 23:24, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
