Inaccuracies in this article to be corrected.

[edit]

The article erroneously attributes development of ACAM2000 to Emergent BioSolution, the company that currently owns rights to the vaccine.

ACAM2000 was developed by Acambis, Inc under contract numbers 200-2000-00001 and 200-2002-00004 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The critical peer-reviewed scientific documentation including funding information is at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7110559/.

Acambis and ACAM2000 were acquired by Sanofi in 2008: https://www.fiercebiotech.com/biotech/sanofi-to-acquire-acambis-for-546m

Emergent BioSolutions acquired ACAM2000 from Sanofi in 2017: https://investors.emergentbiosolutions.com/news-releases/news-release-details/emergent-biosolutions-completes-acquisition-acam2000r-business-0
