99 Red Balloons

[edit]

The claim that the 7 Seconds version is often confused with the A.F.I. version needs reference, I think. Spartacusprime 21:16, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

7Seconds

[edit]

Should be redirection from 7Seconds.

7Seconds

[edit]

According to Last.fm, the band's name ís 7Seconds. All songs by 7 Seconds will be changed automatically in 7Seconds and 7 Seconds redirects to 7Seconds. So what's the real name for this band? [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Haywire1986 (talkcontribs) 14:04, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not certain about Last FM but I think we should go by what their record company calls them which is 7 Seconds http://sideonedummy.com/bands/7-seconds Markco1 (talk) 15:16, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up

[edit]

Doing some house cleaning on this article - will do some more when I have time. Markco1 (talk) 21:31, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seems much of this was lifted from a very good article on the band http://originalsevenseconds.com . I will be working wikifing and cleaning up the article so that it is more original and cites more sources Markco1 (talk) 15:33, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did some reformatting but still needs a bunch of work, citations and all that fun stuff. Markco1 (talk) 16:59, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

7 Seconds7 Seconds (band) — Is that hardcore-punk band really that famous enough to be in its current namespace? Lets put it this way, the song of the same name, an international hit, is far more famous than the band themselves, thats what I think. Donnie Park (talk) 15:53, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

7 Seconds could be a song, a movie, an episode of a television serie, the second highest mountains of each of the seven continents or the name of an hardcore punk band active for 30 years, having released 15 albums and considered very influential on the Straight edge and Positive hardcore scenes as well as on the Hardcore punk scene as a whole. For some, this band is not famous, but for some others the 7 Seconds song is not either. From Wikipedia:Notability: "Determining notability does not necessarily depend on things like fame, importance, or popularity". Such a band is more of a lifetime achievement than an international hit and, in my opinion, would deserve to come before a song (or a movie, a TV episode...). Raxhonp (talk) 22:07, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since I am not saying that the article about the song should be moved to the namespace currently belonging to the band, the band's page should belong to the proposed namespace, wheras the disambiguation page move to where I proposed. Trouble with your claim is, where do I see any of this claim that they are influential within the article by a third reliable party source, all I see is their claim that they are "first band to refer to themselves primarily as hardcore" which comes from their own website, if not a fansite, meaning it fails reliable third party source guidelines. Those sub genre that you have mentioned as being influenced within, like Black Metal, Industrial rock, amongst a forever list, are those that will only attract a small minority of people, apologies with I say that but this is how some will think. In all, I will stick to my rationale, maybe if they were as famous and influential as the Beatles, I'll think differently. Donnie Park (talk) 23:23, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what did the header say, "This appeared on the 7 Seconds Wiki page for about a month...", does that mean that that article is ripped off from this article a month after this was created (9 November 2004), really, this is a big time reliable third party source guidelines failure. Did this band start in 1979 or 1980?

[edit]

The Kevin Seconds article says he started the band in 1979, but the 7 Seconds article says it was started in 1980. Dasilva (talk) 09:34, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1982 Flipside interview does not make sense

[edit]

"I wrote it on a desk and the ink it said 97 Seconds"... what does this mean? Is that really the correct wording from the interview? Equinox 14:30, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
