The Hohle paper

[edit]

The Hohle paper gives only a very rough guesstimate at stellar parameters based on the most basic data. This can be seen in comparison of any number of well-studied stars that appear in the database. In the specific case of 68 Cygni, the luminosity shown for the primary component is higher than the luminosity calculated for the whole system, a clue that all is not well. Beyond the overall approximations, in the case of the double star data, major assumptions had to be made because the secondary has never been detected (and may not even exist) and nothing is known about the eccentricity or inclination of the orbit. It might be good to place emphasis on any other data before using values from this database. Lithopsian (talk) 10:00, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've done some rearranging; how do you think it looks now? StringTheory11 (t • c) 17:02, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Lithopsian:, any ideas on how to further improve the article before a GA nomination? I feel the article's fairly close to GA at this point. StringTheory11 (t • c) 20:16, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
