Champions League qualification

Should there be a separate league table for Champions league qualification as to not overcomplicate a league table that would already include playoff qualification? Similar to how the MLS pages use the conference tables for playoffs and the overall table for continental qualification? Personally I think something like that would provide more clarity. I think it would be odd to have two essentially identical standings templates on the same article. It works for MLS because of the conferences. If the table gets too cluttered, we can add a section or subsection for CCL qualification with two bullet points. Something like:

• X FC as regular season champions

It may be my personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of the double height first row. Not sure what the best solution is there, maybe we can use one colour (for the play-offs) and with C/S and notes indicate who qualified for the CL? CRwikiCA talk 01:24, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

My rational was that the split would be able to show both playoff and CCL qualification separately. Which might be more clear once we have a Playoff champion or other team qualifying. For example:

To me, the first example is far too cluttered and I think it would be confusing for a lot of readers. There is a section on this article titled "2024 CONCACAF Champions League" which has a table of qualifying teams so I don't know if we have to also indicate that on the standings table. I think I agree with you Blaixx, I think RedBlueGreen93's second example (all greens) is clearest. And I think the note about the CL with the C and S letter should suffice in addition to the section on CL qualification further down the article. CRwikiCA talk 14:07, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

Duplication in navboxes

I noticed that {{2023 Canadian Premier League season by team}} is already included in {{2023 in Canadian soccer}}, is there a reason to have this as a second navbox? @Cristane, Blaixx, and Redrose64:, I see you guys have edited both the template and articles, do you see a benefit that I'm overlooking? I suppose the benefit is that the first template has fewer links and makes it easier to find what you are looking for if you want to navigate between articles related to the 2023 CPL season. BLAIXX 02:43, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

I can't think of any other league that has a separate navbox for its clubs' individual season articles. For example, Template:2022–23 in English men's football seems to work just fine for Premier League teams. – PeeJay 06:50, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
