Expansion

[edit]

Hi there, I didn't realize that we already had an article on this topic. So, I have pasted my version into this article. Have integrated the four footnotes into the new version. Should we consider renaming it the 2019 Ayia Napa rape allegation case due to the contested nature of the case? Andykatib 04:44, January 12, 2019 (UTC)

Not sure what the correct name is but looking at [1] "Cyprus rape case" seems to be the most common. The 2019 part probably isn't necessary either. I haven't been active in 10 years, so rules may have changed, but back then you called an article what other people were calling the same subject. And extra stuff like 2019 or other disambiguation stuff was only added to distinguish it from other existing wiki articles, not things like other rape cases in Cyprus that don't have a wiki articles. How about the 2019 Cyprus rape allegation case as a compromise? I chose to include the year because there would have been various rape and rape allegation cases in Cyprus before that and probably in the future. I chose the name Ayia Napa since that was the area that it occurred in. Will also work on finding sources to replace those from The Sun, which is currently on Wikipedia's list of unreliable sources. That sounds good to me. I think people looking for this article will be able to find it with that title. Peregrine Fisher (talk) 01:41, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

English variant

[edit]

@Peregrine Fisher:, @Andykatib: I have added a British English tag to the article as it is about the trial of a British woman in a Commonwealth country. It therefore has strong ties to British English. TSventon (talk) 12:22, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The information provided in the entry seems to stem from newspaper accounts repeating the defence attorney's talking points. It would help if someone Nānākuli Hears (talk) 06:27, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
