Redirect
[edit]There is a consensus that this shouldn't be created until there is something substantive to say. See above AFD discussion. If you disagree I suggest you ask the closing admin to revisit this or go to DRV. Ta. Spartaz Humbug! 13:48, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- The AfD redirect said till more information is available. Not when the tournament begins. Only 1 user in that discussion said it and everyone after him said till information is added. There is information available now, dates, and even format are out. Even a second team is confirmed for the event. I would consider it notable now. Cheers. --RedBullNewYork2012 (talk) 14:13, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Apparently, there is "more information" whether or not it's "enough" is now an editing/BRD issue. After a quick review of the issue, here's my view. Can we at least wait until the other 3 teams are announced, where's the fire? --Ron Ritzman (talk) 17:14, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, its still an unfinished picture. I'm happy to review this again when we have complete details. Spartaz Humbug! 17:26, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- I am cool with that, somewhat, I will give it till 1 August and if the 3 teams are still not announced but sources on the tournament are still going on then the article is made. --RedBullNewYork2012 (talk) 18:26, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Elo ranking in 2012 Nehru Cup
[edit]Hi guys, I don't why Elo rating is removed which I had added. You know Elo ratings give more comprehensive position of countries and comparatively better understanding of quality of strength of teams. We're not gonna lose anything if we provide Elo ratings to our readers since FIFA ratings have come down to severe criticism of late. I hope you people don't revert it back without having a fair discussion. Please it doesn't take more than a column for elo ratings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.192.174.134 (talk) 04:18, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Cameroon team
[edit]Is Cameroon fielding their National side or some reserve team, B team, Junior team etc ? If so, that should be clearly mentioned in the article. In that case the FIFA ranking maynot directly apply to such a team.

- Cameroon are bringing in there best domestic team. This means that they are bringing the best players that play club football in Cameroon. Now about the FIFA Ranking, according the FIFA website, all the matches at the Nehru Cup affect there FIFA ranking and thus why there ranking is listed. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 05:05, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Cool, then this is officially their national side. I had this doubt because Nehru Cup has this history of countries sending B/C/D teams, junior teams, club teams etc (especially old Soviet Union). We will get a clearer picture when the squad info is here.
Anish Viswa 05:42, 23 August 2012 (UTC)- Exactly. The All India Football Federation made it clear they did not want any B, C or youth teams. That is why teams like Jordan and Thailand were rejected. This Cameroon side is the best side just with no foreign based players. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 05:50, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- So our apprehensions are correct, Cameroon sent their A team only. I think the AFC rank may not be applicable to this side.

- I don't understand, if it's an 'A' side then they would have a FIFA rank since 'A' means first team. This Cameroon team isn't 'A', you can quite clearly see this from the squad list. Yes, AIFF only want 'A' teams, but this is somewhat very distant from an 'A' team. None the less, Cameroon have sent their strongest possible squad I guess. Who is to say it's A, B, or C. Maybe the FIFA rank should be added, but I think it needs some kind of note suggesting it is a Cameroon domestic selection, and to be honest, i'd probably try to do away with the FIFA rank and may incorportae a map of where these countries have come travelled from showing the diverse selection of nations? Druryfire (talk) 19:58, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- When this conversation happened FIFA still considered the Cameroon team as the actual team and that they get ranking points... now they dont. I just put "A" there randomly to show its different because this is not the real Cameroon team. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 20:25, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- I think in that case, we need to put a note on the team in the 'Teams' section. 'A' in my version of events kind of means the first team, although the average reader would think why need to put this in? It depends mate what you feel. I'm happy to keep it like it is, we have the squads section if anyone really bothered, can go and check. To me, end of the day, if Cameroon are sending a squad, then they are sending the best possible squad available. I'd even personally take away the 'A' part as in 2 years time for example, I wouldn't remember whats happened, but a little note might help. Druryfire (talk) 20:34, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- I honestly dont care to be honest. As long as it is clear to the reader that this is not the real Cameroon team I could care less. Be it "Cameroon" or "Cameroon Local". Or even a note. I dont know, busy day for me so I am not as focused. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 20:43, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay, yesterday on the FIFA website the Cameroon team matches for the Nehru Cup were on there FIFA page but they have again been taken down and they are now known as the Cameroon B national football team. See here and honestly I would take this as the final answer. I will take the liberty of marking it down. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 18:40, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
