The result of this discussion (at Talk:Mick Philpott) was no consensus - strong arguments a year ago to merge MP to AHF have been replaced with recent arguments for the opposite.
As this us a separate article and content will need amending accordingly then there must be discussion here. As new information is being released after the judgement and sentencing of the three, the information is already looking dated. For instance the talk, probably promoted by Mick Philpott himself that he made valiant attempts to save his children should be balanced with comments by witnesses as seen on "Philpott House Fire: The Truth" channel 5, 2 April 2013 21:00 - 22:00, that on fact the opposite us true, he was seen to make no effort at all, therefore this article should be reviewed and updated in line with facts 92.40.253.206 (talk) 21:51, 2 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Allenton house fire → Derby house fire – Very few non-local sources refer to it as the Allenton house fire. The vast majority of non-locals haven't heard of Allenton. As the lead states, the house wasn't in Allenton. Therefore the current title is both incorrect & not the common name. Although this isn't the only house fire that has occurred in Derby, it's the only notable one. If disambiguation is needed, it should be at 2012 Derby house fire. Each of us wants a different title, but we all want to remove Allenton. That's important because it didn't happen there & because it's not part of the common name, due to the different areas of Derby not being known to the vast majority of non-locals. Any of the titles suggested here are better than one which includes the incorrect Allenton. Jim Michael (talk) 07:34, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
