Fastest Lap

[edit]

Why is there so much confusion among the fastest lap setter?? Why is it being changed between Räikkönen and Massa after the race? So who actually set it?? Gokul009 (talk) 15:19, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Raikkonen set the fastest lap on lap 74, at 1:16.689. One user seemed to think it was Massa on lap 76. Nobody agreed with that user, least of all the FIA. It seems to be resolved now. Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:28, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Importance

[edit]

I've dropped the page to mid importance (see here), to conform with the Belgian one. Apterygial (talk) 10:10, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is an F1 team singular or plural?

[edit]

I've always treated an F1 team as a singular entity in the grammatical sense, and have copyedited other articles in the scope of the MII to reflect this, but is there actually a WP:F1-wide standard?--Midgrid(talk) 18:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the standard is UK English, and isn't this UK English? I think our American friends have it plural. I think. Apterygial 23:46, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't aware that "team is/team are" was a UK/US English thing. But I agree we should have a consistent approach - perhaps raise it at WP:F1? P.S. What is "MII"? (I'm sure it will be really obvious and I'll feel like a dill when I find out the answer). DH85868993 (talk) 02:59, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it was an English thing... Maybe not. P.S. WP:MII. It's a project to get all 2008 article Featured or GAs. Apterygial 07:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Corner names

[edit]

Where the corners have actual names (as opposed to Turn 1, 2, 3 etc.), I would prefer them to be italicised, but it's not a big issue.--Midgrid(talk) 18:48, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As would I. I raised the point at WT:F1 ages ago but the consensus was to leave as is. Apterygial 23:46, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll have to remember that whenever I'm editing race report articles! :) --Midgrid(talk) 12:04, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sutil

[edit]

The IP editor was right, the second ref given does state that Sutil would have been given a penalty if he had finished the race. I'm not defending the edit summary left, but the edit was legitimate. Mjroots (talk) 18:27, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

True. While I have little sympathy with the manner the opinion was expressed, it does appear it was done in good faith. However, I can't help but feel that even with the steward's word it is still conjecture. Apterygial 00:08, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
