Locked-door fire deaths
[edit]I added the infamous Triangle fire to See also because it, too, involved doors being locked that shouldn't have been. Wasn't there some similar fire tragedy at a chicken plant in North Carolina in the early 1990s as well? Daniel Case 15:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- That article has now been created: 1991 Hamlet chicken plant fire. Will add to list. Daniel Case 18:47, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
GA on hold
[edit]Fix the following things:
- There aren't any pictures. While not having one in this instance won't prevent getting GA status, it'd be nice. I understand that pictures are hard to come by in this instance.
- Fair use image found, uploaded, tagged and added to image. Blood Red Sandman Open Up Your Heart - Receive My EviLove 19:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Find refs for the statements I tagged with {{fact}}.
- One referenced, one had a note added to it. Blood Red Sandman Open Up Your Heart - Receive My EviLove 17:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Expand the "aftermath" section; arrests, consequences, etc?
- I tried a number of Google searches, but came up with nothing. There simply doesn't apear to be any information concerning what happened next. What do you (or does anyone) suggest doing in this instance? Blood Red Sandman Open Up Your Heart - Receive My EviLove 21:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think there really is anything you can do on that one... At least, not until someone publishes a book on it ten years from now. It's just a little odd to have a section that short. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 21:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps you could combine it with the "Investigations" section? —Disavian (talk/contribs) 21:37, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

- Find a good copy editor and have him look at the grammar, spelling, phrasing, etc in the article.
- Use the appropriate citation template ({{cite}}, {{cite news}}, {{cite web}} etc) on refs.
- All now use {{cite news}} - Blood Red Sandman Open Up Your Heart - Receive My EviLove 19:04, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

As far as I can see, all you have left is copyediting. One other thing, the "note" you're using doesn't work on my browser. I'll see if I can fix that by using a different ref style there. It's looking good :) —Disavian (talk/contribs) 19:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- There, it works now. Good enough. I suppose it could be integrated into the references section instead of having a separate notes section, it's up to you. Upon further consideration, I see no reason to keep your nom on hold any longer, then. :) —Disavian (talk/contribs) 19:34, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]The picture, at this resolution, is not useful. It appears about 1.5" x 1" on my screen and has no higher resolution. If this is the best "fair use" will allow we may as well just eliminate it, because I can't even tell what's in the picture. --Rehcsif (talk) 04:33, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Update
[edit]Can someone update this article with information about the status of the building and the investigation. It doesn't seem like there has been any updating done since early 2007, two years ago. --Jackyd101 (talk) 15:02, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- added an aftermath section and removed the update tag. Thanks.--GDibyendu (talk) 16:56, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps: On hold
[edit]As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing Sweeps to determine if the article should remain a Good article. I went through the article and made various changes, please look them over. I believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a GA. However, in reviewing the article, I have found there are several issues that needs to be addressed.
- The update tag needs to be addressed, it has be there for several months now.
- Is there a related infobox that can be included in the article, similar for other disasters?
- There's some excessive wikilinking in the lead and the article, try and delink some of the common terms.
- "Investigators confirmed that the site of the fire had been used as an illegal leather bag factory." Define what "illegal" means in this instance. Are the bags replicas or actually banned from use? Or was the factory itself illegal?
- This note "Although this is technically impossible to prove, it may be taken as true due to a lack of results stating otherwise based on a wide range of Google searches." should probably be removed.
- There are several dead links that need to be fixed. The Internet Archive may be able to help.
I will leave the article on hold for seven days, but if progress is being made and an extension is needed, one may be given. If no progress is made, the article may be delisted, which can then later be renominated at WP:GAN. I'll contact all of the main contributors and related WikiProjects so the workload can be shared. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 07:04, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
These things are now fixed. Hometech (talk) 20:50, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
GA Sweeps: Kept
[edit]Good work addressing the issues. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good Article. I went through the article and made a few more changes, please review them. Keep up with the investigations, and be sure to update the results whenever that occurs. Continue to improve the article making sure all new information is properly sourced and neutral. It would also be beneficial to update the access dates for all of the online sources. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have updated the article history to reflect this review. --Happy editing!
