Robert Donat and father Ernst Emit Donat.

[edit]

I wondered whether you would be interested to know that Robert Donat's father Ernst Emil Donat was born in Zyrardow c. 1864. Robert was the famous British Film Star who was born in Withington, Manchester, Lancashire about 1905 and died in 1958. Ernst was a Civil Engineer, Foreign Correspondent and a linguistic. He married Rose Alice Green at St. Paul's C.E. Church, Withington, in 1895 and eventually emigrated to America with his wife Rose and died in 1939 at the age of 75 in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.28.212.209 (talk) 22:38, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Town name: Please remove this flaw

[edit]

I happened to see that the name of this place was originally Ruda Guzowska, before it was named Żyrardów, after french inventor Philippe de Girard. This course of events doesn't really become clear in the present version. To make it easy for you and also correct this time, you could have http://pl.wiki.x.io/wiki/%C5%BByrard%C3%B3w#Historia translated and have yourself inspired from there Contorista (talk) 10:08, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
