The film is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. It is a Hindi-language film, and a sequel to the 2012 Bollywood film Son of Sardaar starring Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. They both return for the film, and lead a cast including Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Panday, Mrunal Thakur, Juhi Chawla and Vindu Dara Singh.[2][3][4] Dutt's involvement in the project was complicated by VISA issues. The actor Vijay Raaz was initially cast but later replaced.[5][6] The film is made by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, and is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia, Pravin Talreja and Kumar Mangat Pathak.[7]

Principal photography took place in Edinburgh in July 2024 with a filming schedule reported at 50 days.[8][9] Filming later took place in the UK in London and on the Firth of Forth.[10] Filming also took place in Punjab, India.[11][1]
