Qingnian Reservoir (simplified Chinese: 青年水库; traditional Chinese: 青年水庫; pinyin: Qīngnián Shuǐkù; lit. 'Youth Reservoir' is a reservoir located in the town of Qingxi, Shaoshan, Hunan, China.[1] Its drainage basin is about 0.5 km2 (0.19 sq mi), and it can hold up to 600 m3 (1.4×10−7 cu mi) of water at full capacity.[2]

Etymology

[edit]

The reservoir provides drinking water and water for irrigation, and has also become a place for recreation for nearby residents and tourists.[2]

In 2009, it was listed among the ninth group "National Water Conservancy Scenic Area" by the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China.
