List of storms named Bilis
Appearance
The name Bilis (Tagalog: [bɪˈlis], bi-LIS) was used for two tropical cyclones in the West Pacific Ocean. Bilis was contributed to the naming lists by the Philippines, and the name means speed or swiftness.
- Typhoon Bilis (2000) (T0010, 18W, Isang) – a Category 5-equivalent super typhoon that made landfall in Taiwan and China.
- Tropical Storm Bilis (2006) (T0604, 05W, Florita) – a severe tropical storm that affected the Philippines, Taiwan, and China, causing over 800 fatalities.
The name Bilis was retired following its usage in 2006, being replaced by Maliksi for future seasons.
