The people who are born in the City of São Paulo are called Paulistanos in Brazil, while the people who are born in State of São Paulo, independent of the city, are called Paulistas. These people made extensive contributions to Brazil's (and the world's) history, culture, music, literature, education, science, and technology and a great hub of Brazilian growth and innovation in all these areas.
