Ladybarn Park is an urban park situated in the Withington and Ladybarn areas of Manchester, England. Covering approximately 23.4 acres, the park provides a green oasis for local residents and visitors, offering a range of recreational facilities including sports areas, a children's play area, and landscaped walking paths.

History

[edit]

Ladybarn Park is named after the historic Ladybarn area, which takes its name from Lady Barn House – a building dating back to the 19th century that once served as a school and community centre. The park itself was established in the late 19th century as part of Manchester City Council’s initiatives to create accessible urban green spaces for the expanding local population.[1] Over the years, the park has been upgraded and revitalised through various community and council-led projects, including the introduction of modern sports facilities and improved landscaping to better serve local residents.
