Kuddus Bahini was a militia during the Bangladesh Liberation War.[a][1][2] Abdul Kuddus organized a force in Muladi, Barisal.[3][4]

Formation

After the Bangladesh Liberation War began, Abdul Kuddus organized a militia in Barisal which was composed of volunteers and retired military members. Later on, The group became larger. The militia became known as the Kuddus Bahini. The militia received ammunition support, weapons and military guidance by Captain Shahjahan.[3][4]

Military engagements

Kuddus Bahini conducted several operations, raids and ambushes on Pakistani positions, most notably in Mehendiganj, Muladi and Hizla and other parts of Greater Barisal Region.[4] The militia was divided into small groups. Abdul Kuddus was rewarded Bir Protik for his contribution.[3]
