Khamsa – The Well of Oblivion (Arabic: خمصة – بئر النسيان)[1][2][3] is a 2022 Algerian animated film directed by Khaled Chiheb[4][5] of D-Clik Productions. The film follows a young boy named Adi who awakens with amnesia at the bottom of a dark well. Accompanied by two peculiar creatures, Adi embarks on a quest to recover his memories, only to discover the truth is more complex than he imagined.[6][7]

Production
[edit]Vynom, a graduate of the Algiers Fine Arts School, also served as the film's art director.[10][11]
Release and reception
[edit]Khamsa – The Well of Oblivion garnered international acclaim, being nominated for awards at both the Annecy International Animation Film Festival[12][13] and the Ottawa International Animation Festival[14] in 2022.[15][16][17][18] It also received an award at the Niigata International Animation Film Festival, in Japan, in 2023.[19]
The film has been described as "a sublime travel"[20]
