The Kenyan diaspora consists of Kenyans and their descendants living outside Kenya.
Description
[edit]Countries with significant numbers of people with Kenyan ancestry are United Kingdom and United States. It is estimated that there are three million Kenyans living abroad.
Sixty-five percent of Kenya's diaspora (i.e., 326,484 of the 501,204 Kenyans in the 2017 UN migrant stock database) live in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, and Germany for educational and economic reasons. Since most members of the Kenyan diaspora are highly educated and skilled voluntary migrants, they tend to concentrate in countries like the UK that allow them to gain maximum economic benefit for their skilled labor.[3]
