Jean-Jacques Askenasy is an Israeli neurologist. Born in November 1929, in Romania. Aged 95 years old. He is an honorary member of the Romanian Academy.[1]

- Chairman of the Neurology Dept at the Băneasa University Hospital, Bucharest
- Appointed Neurologist at Ichilov Hospital, Tel-Aviv University, 1972
- Neuroscience Researcher, Weizmann Institute, 1974-1975
- Associate Prof. of Neurology, Mt Sinai School of Medicine, NY University; 1981.
- Participated in Melvin D. Yahr & Elliot D. Weitzman’s Sleep in Parkinsonian Patients project, 1981
- Appointed Director of the Sleep Medicine Center at Sheba Medical Center, 1985
- Organized courses in sleep medicine at Tel-Aviv University.
- Became professeur agrégé at Pierre et Marie Curie Univ., Clinique Charcot, 1986
