JAS considers the accusation of being a terrorist organization to be based solely on one-sided stigmatization or negative assumptions about JAS as one of the civil society organizations guaranteed by the law, which has actively contributed to helping the state advance Indonesian society.
Ansharu Syariah (AS) emphasizes that JAS is not a terrorist organization and rejects being categorized as one because JAS rejects all forms of terrorism, whether carried out by individuals, groups, or even terrorism perpetrated by any state in the world. For JAS, terrorism is an act prohibited by both religion and the country's laws.

Status
[edit]JAS considers the accusation of being a terrorist organization to be based solely on one-sided stigmatization or negative assumptions about JAS as one of the civil society organizations guaranteed by the law, which has actively contributed to helping the state advance Indonesian society.
The reasoning behind JAS can be read and understood through the JAS's Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART), and JAS does not engage in any activities related to terrorism or actions that could be categorized as terrorist movements. All of JAS's programs and activities are far removed from any actions involving violence or the threat of violence that would create an atmosphere of terror or widespread fear, cause mass casualties, or result in damage or destruction to vital strategic objects, the environment, public facilities, or international facilities with ideological, political motives, or security disturbances as defined by the Anti-Terrorism Law in our country.
Throughout this time, JAS has also actively contributed to helping the country in the fight against extremist ideologies that lead to terrorism, by providing enlightenment and understanding of Islam that is straight and Rahmatan lil Alamin (a mercy to all the worlds). All of this is carried out by JAS without burdening the state’s finances in any way. JAS operates voluntarily, driven by the awareness of its members about the obligation to advise fellow Muslims and fellow citizens not to fall into misguided and extreme understandings that lead to violence and terrorism.
