Operations
[edit]The 8200 series sets are used during the weekday morning rush hour on the Kobe Main Line to provide additional capacity for Commuter Limited Express and Rapid Express trains,[2] when cumulative congestion can reach 147% during this time.[citation needed] They were also formerly used during the evening rush hour.[2]
Formations
[edit]As of 1 April 2015[update], the fleet consists of two 2-car sets, formed as follows.[3]
Designation | Mc1 | Tc |
---|---|---|
Type | Mc8200 | Tc8250 |
Numbering | 8200 | 8250 |
The "Mc1" cars are fitted with two single-arm pantographs.[3]
Interior
[edit]The sets were built with tip-up seats to increase passenger capacity,[1] but these were later replaced with fixed longitudinal seating.[2]
